What to ask a Bernese Mountain Dog breeder
Ask for both parents' results for OFA Hips, OFA Elbows, Cardiac OFA, DM (Degenerative Myelopathy), VWD (Von Willebrand Disease). Results should be checkable by OFA or registry number, not a verbal assurance.

Minnesota requires a Commercial breeder license if you meet 10 or more breeding dogs (adult intact animals) and more than 5 litters (total litters per year).

No state issues a breed-specific breeder license, and a state license never replaces a USDA license or local zoning.
