Common Shih Tzu health concerns
Brachycephalic airway syndrome, Eye issues (proptosis, keratitis), Hip dysplasia, Dental disease. Ask the breeder which of these the parents were screened for, and for results you can check.
Breeder licensing in California
California does not issue a state breeder license, but statutory duties attach if you 3 or more litters or 20 or more dogs (sold, transferred, or given away in the preceding 12 months) in a twelve-month period.
No state issues a breed-specific breeder license, and a state license never replaces a USDA license or local zoning.
