What to ask a Labrador Retriever breeder
Ask for both parents' results for OFA Hips, OFA Elbows, EIC (Exercise Induced Collapse), CNM (Centronuclear Myopathy), PRA (Progressive Retinal Atrophy). Results should be checkable by OFA or registry number, not a verbal assurance.
Breeder licensing in Michigan
Michigan requires a Large-scale dog breeding kennel registration if you keep more than 15 intact females (intact females over 4 months kept primarily for breeding and previously whelped).
0 of 6 breeders here are matched to an active Large-scale dog breeding kennel registration record
No state issues a breed-specific breeder license, and a state license never replaces a USDA license or local zoning.
