Puppies By Design Online

This is an incredibly difficult review to write. If I can spare one person the pain I went through it will be worth it. I chose Sam as a breeder because I believed him to be ethical, experienced, and someone who stood behind the puppies he produced. That belief mattered to me. I brought home my 2-month-old puppy, Aurora (“Rory”), and within hours she developed severe vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, and refusal to eat. She required emergency veterinary care on December 2, 2025. Radiographs documented severe gastric distention and esophageal dilation. Despite hospitalization and treatment, she deteriorated rapidly and passed away. A necropsy performed by the University of Illinois Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory identified moderate, diffuse acute to subacute gastroenteritis with suspected infectious etiology (including parvovirus or severe bacterial infection), along with aspiration pneumonia and acute liver changes. After her death, Sam refunded the purchase price and the initial emergency visit. However, he denied responsibility for the remaining hospitalization costs and stated that I should have returned the critically ill puppy to him, subjecting Rory to a four hour car ride to be seen by the vet who claimed she was healthy and lacked the tools to care for her, rather than continuing emergency veterinary care. He further maintained that once the puppy left his premises, he assumed no responsibility beyond the written health guarantee which he says does not cover vet bills. For clarity: all hospitalization decisions were made by licensed emergency veterinarians based on a rapidly declining, critically ill 60-day-old puppy. Continuing care was not elective. I am sharing this so prospective buyers understand how medical crises are handled if a puppy becomes severely ill shortly after going home. Read the health guarantee carefully. Ask detailed questions about infectious disease protocols, vaccination timing, and exactly what support is provided if a puppy requires emergency hospitalization. Losing a puppy days after bringing her home was devastating. I pray no one goes through the pain of trying to keep a little life alive for four days. No one goes home to an empty house filled with dog items. Accountability and transparency matter in breeding, especially when outcomes are tragic.

We got a puppy from Puppies by Design and are so in love with our new fur baby! We had a phenomenal experience with the puppy adoption process. Matt and Ava were both incredibly responsive and helpful with all of my questions. I also greatly appreciated the wealth of knowledge that Matt shared with us upon pick-up. He gave us a getting started care package that had everything we needed in our first few days, as well as tips and tricks to get her trained as quickly and easily as possible. We picked up at the facility and this place is gorgeous! A stunning farm and puppy facility. It is so nice to know where she came from! As for our fur baby, she is all around amazing! Healthy, adorable and SO SMART. She is 14 weeks old and pretty close to fully potty trained. She is a lovable, snuggly like ball of happiness. She has brought so much joy to our family and we feel so happy to have her! Thank you, Puppies by Design!

Loki is a year old now. He's quite the looker. I couldn't have gotten a better dog! I think Loki needs a brother/sister here soon. There is no other place I would go to but Puppies by Design. If I could imagine the perfect place to purchase a puppy from, I'm not sure I could have come up with a place as good as Puppies by Design! Edit: he's 4 years old now!

I truly can't say enough about how incredible our experience was with Puppies by Design. We will only buy puppies from here going forward. We had done months of thorough vetting and research before deciding on puppies by design. Not only was the buying experience great- Incredible communication, very friendly and great transparently. But most importantly, you can tell they prioritize the puppies and their health. Our pup is almost 3 years old now and is truly the best dog I could've ever dreamed of. People come up to us regularly to comment on what a wonderful temperament and personality she has (not to mention, how cute she is!). She is kind, loving, cuddly, and was so easily trained. She gets along great with other dogs & kids. I have already given out her breeder information to numerous people. I truly can't recommend Puppies by Design enough.

We purchased our Toy Poodle from Puppy by Design. Sam was super kind, and friendly. I give the staff, facility and everything involved with the process and support in adopting a High Five!! We have had Sunny for a year and he’s just great! He’s healthy, smart, and very loving. We are thinking of getting another Toy Poodle. A brother for Sunny. Thank you so very much Sam❤️
