Performance Bred Companions

We got the last female pup of the 2025 Daisy x Radar litter. She is a great dog. 5 1/5 months old we have had her out 3 times. She has put up 7 pheasants and 4 quail for us already. She has a very strong desire to find the birds. She is naturally steady to wing and shot and when she sees the bird go down she goes right after it. No professional training, only the little bit of training I have been able to get done in the short time we have had her. Could ask for better!

We are extremely happy with this new addition to our family, Greta is a natural when it comes to chukar and pheasant. She's also been crushing agility and obedience training and get's on great with our malamute, we couldn't ask for more!

Just yesterday my family picked up our new puppy from Derrick, and he is already such a joy and a wonderful addition to our family (he is napping at my feet as I write this!). When we were first looking at getting a new family dog, I spoke to a variety of breeders in the Idaho/Montana/Wyoming region but Idaho AKC Labs really stood out to me. I appreciated how easy it was to access and navigate Derrick’s website and I especially loved the video and photo updates of the puppies. Derrick was always available to answer our questions and offer advice on caring for and training our puppy. We purchased one of Derrick’s started dogs who is about 12 weeks old and we are amazed by how smart he is even at such a young age. He has a great sense of smell, already knows his way around our house, and loves to cuddle and play. Derrick’s family did an incredible job of starting his training—he has mostly stopped puppy biting and only chews on his toys and he is pretty good at “sit” and “come.” On his first night in our home, after a 6 hour drive, he slept peacefully in his crate with no crying and no accidents. He has transitioned so easily into our home as a result of the excellent care given to him by Derrick’s family. We feel so lucky to have been able to work with Derrick and Idaho AKC Labs. Derrick provided Fantastic customer service starting before his dogs were even bred through education and helping to explain how his business works. We had been searching for a quality breeder for some time and Derrick's passion and love for his dogs, and quality breeding lines let us know we had found the right one. From before Willow was even bred to the day we picked up our little girl, Derrick was responsive to phone calls, texts and email, (and unbelievably patient when we were anxiously awaiting whelping and contacting him daily!). Our little girl has been an absolute joy bringing just the right mix of sweet, smart, and sass to keep thing from getting boring! would absolutely recommend him for anyone looking for a quality, ethical, caring breeder.

We spent a lot of time and did a lot of research. Ultimately we went with Derrick and AKC Labs because of the responsiveness and support, and the dogs had excellent pedigree. After 7 months, our pup is a retrieving machine! He is learning to be a duck commander, and is so good with the kids! Please count on Derrick to also take care of you AFTER the sale, he has gone well above and beyond for us. We will definitely come back if our Ranger boy needs a companion!
