Castle Creek Cavaliers

We just got our sweet Sadie from Merle back in September and we are hooked! Merle has some very strict protocols with house breaking. I have to admit that we strayed from it a little and did we regret it! Follow her protocols and you will have a well behaved puppy. Our Sadie girl is so perfect and has pretty much been potty trained since we got her. Accidents were rare and for the most part due to her not being able to run outside bc we blocked the door for some reason, or rain. Sadie is happy, healthy and so smart. We had low expectations with how smart she would be due to the fact that we have 2 border collies, but she keeps up with her border collie sisters. She even learned how to open her play pen latch. She learns tricks easily and so eager to please. We are OBSESSED.

We added to our family via a little Cav boy in March. Merle is clearly a passionate and experienced breeder with exceptional dogs to show for it. In reading the reviews here it seems they are from people who did not buy a dog and one who had a business dispute. For anyone looking for an outstanding puppy in health, appearance, and disposition- look no further. Merle knows her stuff and hands off a puppy that has been carefully cared for and hand raised. Everything she said has come to pass from how he prefers to eat, sleep etc. Merle hasn’t been intrusively whatsoever after purchase. She does vet potential buyers as well she should. I have passed on Castle Creeks information several times to passers by and friends alike, our Malcolm is such a great ambassador and know that they are in good hands with Merle.

We couldn't be happier with our experience with Castle Creek Cavaliers. Merle is caring and knowledgeable and her puppies are healthy and happy. Our boy Walter is settled in and happier than ever and Merle is always there if we have any questions or need coaching. She is an AKC breeder of merit (less than 10 in the USA for cavaliers) and is the most knowledgeable person about the breed that I have ever met. If you are looking to find a perfect pet this is the place.

I have been so fortunate to have found Castle Creek and Merle. She introduced me to my little guy, Benson. He’s turning 10 this years and he still looks and acts like a pup. He’s vibrant, healthy and always happy. He fills my heart and I’m grateful to have found such a great breeder.

Merle breeds beautiful animals and we are grateful for that. Unfortunately she violates her own contract that states the owner must register the puppy to the AKC within 90 days. Unfortunately to do that Merle has to register the litter. Which she has neglected with free will. We have asked repeatedly for over 6 months and we have even called the AKC to see if they can get her to follow through with normal and customary procedure. To find out many complaints have been filed previously as well. My wife and I chose her for our puppy Finley because she was a Breeder of Merit and part of that requirement to have this status is that the breeder is required to register all litters. To find out she has not registered a litter since 2022 , yet it took the AKC until 2 weeks ago 8/20/2024 to finally take away this status. We paid over 5400 dollars for our Cavalier and chose her for our puppy because she had a reputable reputation and has bred puppies for 22 years with many Champions. We have ask for the pedigree information as well as the AKC number for Finley' s mother, but she is not willing to provide such a simple request. We have no guarantee that she has done all the testing on both parents to help ensure a health puppy. We can only pray that our puppy will be healthy God willing. Unfortunately there really is no recourse at this point except take her to small claims court and let a judge decide that she was grossly negligent.
