Alta-Tollhaus German Shepherd Dogs

I’m a little hesitant to write this review because we feel that words can’t describe how wonderful of a breeder Julie from Alta-Tollhaus is. After we lost our last Shepherd we began our search for our next and after meeting Julie and visiting her facility we knew that Alta-Tollhaus was the one for us. Julie puts so much love and care into her breeding and 45 plus years experience really shows. Not only after we received our gorgeous puppy Julie continues to reach out with valuable information and is always available to answer questions we might have. We have never had so many people stop and comment on how beautiful Zena is. As far as her temperament is concerned she loves people and especially children and always wants to play with the kids in the neighborhood. If you are on the fence about a breeder, look no further. You will be very satisfied that you did. We absolutely love our new family member.

It's difficult to fully express how highly I think of Julie and the dogs she breeds! Julie is truly wonderful to work with both before and after receiving one of her dogs. She is extremely knowledgeable and hard working in her choice of breeding's and working with her clients. We currently have our second Alta-Tollhaus GSD. Our first was the most amazing creature we have ever had the privilege of knowing. Gunner always did the right thing in every situation, from being loving to children to defending my wife when it was needed. Our current boy is 18 months and is developing to show a lot of the same traits. He is extraordinarily smart while very energetic with quite a bit of drive. A challenging dog, which Julie informed us he would be, while an absolute joy to own and spend time with. Along with the exceptional temperament of Julie's dogs, they are just beautiful! Highly recommend!!!

While looking for well-regarded GSD breeders throughout the country Alta-Tollhaus kept coming up in online discussions, from AT owners to others that only saw Julie's dogs at shows, all praised Julie's methods and track record. Our Alta-Tollhaus puppy turned one year old today, and everything I had read about Julie prior to contacting her has been accurate. From the beginning she was responsive and professional. Coming from Oregon, and picking up our pup on the back end of an overseas vacation was stressful, but Julie was fantastic in helping us plan everything smoothly, and we never felt like we were burdening her with our complicated plans. In addition, Julie has some incredible resources on raising puppies that she gave us that have been great to read and learn, and refer back to over the last year. She truly cares about her dogs both in her care and in her customers care. As for our puppy, we couldn't have asked for a better animal. Her personality, temperament, and looks are everything that we were hoping for. Our pup gets compliments nearly every day on her calm temperament and maturity, and has been such a joy to adventure with over the past year. For now, one puppy is enough... but we are already looking forward to getting a second AT puppy sometime in the future.

All these great reviews are so absolutely TRUE about Julie and her incredible dogs! Living in California and not feeling truly confident in local breeders I found in my area, I began to look on various online forums and came across Julie's name multiple times. I'm so glad I trusted my gut, and I cannot believe my very first puppy is an Alta Tollhaus dog! I am spoiled for life! Julie is not only an incredible, trustworthy breeder, but equally a wonderful person who only wants the best for her dogs and her Alta Tollhaus Family! From day one, she was there to guide me when I needed advice and I cannot recommend her highly enough! We get stopped on our walks EVERY day with people asking where my dog is from.
