I cannot say enough about Dr. Gustavo and the entire team at Wellswood Midtown Animal Hospital. From the moment I walked in, the ladies at the front made me feel supported—they’re kind, funny, and genuinely caring. They treated both me and my dog, Miguel, like family. Miguel became critically ill overnight, and another vet told me he had only three days to live. I was devastated and terrified. I knew I had to get him to Dr. Gustavo. Even though Miguel needed a blood transfusion I couldn’t afford, and even though multiple clinics had already turned us away, Dr. Gustavo and his team never hesitated. They stepped in when no one else would. Because of their compassion, skill, and dedication, I was blessed with seven more months with my pup. Seven months I wouldn’t have had without them. The quality of care, the honesty, and the affordability at Wellswood Midtown Animal Hospital are unmatched in Tampa. If you love your pet, you’re doing them a disservice by taking them anywhere else. This team gave me more time with Miguel, and I will forever be grateful.

I cannot recommend this Veterinary and Dr. Gustavo enough! We recently went in for a dental cleaning and routine check-ups, and the experience was fantastic. Mishi (my little yorkie) absolutely loves Dr. Gustavo—he has such a gentle, reassuring way with animals that completely puts them at ease. The entire staff was professional, the dental work was top-notch, and I felt completely confident leaving my baby in their care.

Dr. Gustavo and his team are wonderful with pets. Dr. Gustavo has taken care of my pet for many years. I moved, and his office is no longer close to me, but I still prefer to go there because I trust him completely. He is a great professional, and I highly recommend him.
