Veterinary Care Center

We have been coming to VCC for a long time now, and they never fail us. Today, they saw us right away because our dog got bitten by a neighbor's dog who was off leash. The front desk, Kim and the rest of the staff always take such good care of us. Dr. Goldman is the best. He treated our dog so well, got her cleaned up and gave her the necessary medication. He is always so concerned and really cares about his patients. VCC is wonderful

This place has always been sus, especially the front desk. They'll try to charge you for optional things your pet doesn't need. That's fine, and kind of par for the course at vet offices. Whats not okay is the substandard vet care and the medical staff. I got a prescription for a medication that was under filled. Instead of acknowledging their mistake and filling more medication , they told me it's my issue and that an extra dose will be 25$. This medication was a solution in a squeeze bottle and unlikely to be very expensive for them administer to me. The quality of vets has gone downhill a lot. As soon as I'd find a favorite, they're gone. All that's left are the semi- incompetent ones who you have to remind of basic things that are charted. Like dewormer, flea prevention, etc. The vets may indeed be competent in most situations but have a bad bedside manner.

I used to love this place bc of Dr. Sandoval but she's not there anymore! Next time I was there for my cat, they tried to tell me I HAD TO CHIP my cat in order to get a health certificate!!! Twice!!! I told them to show me where this is stated bc I googled it right there and told them it's not mandatory then they said never mind!!! NEXT I called to make an apt for my cat for an ultrasound they said I have to make a sept apt to go in to see if the dr recommends it first before they book. So I would have to pay twice when I could just pay for 1 visit! Why TF would it matter what the dr recommends if IM PAYING FOR IT ! Last time I was there they said blood work was normal for my boy who's skinny and we did X-rays. Something is clearly wrong. These people are so ignorant and are scammers!!!!

I took my new puppy here to establish care and to get UTI symptoms checked out. The first Dr I saw took a urine sample and results came back that my puppy had crystals in her urine to which the Dr prescribed a special diet. My puppy's UTI symptoms immediately resolved upon starting this new diet,though I needed to get her seen for allergy, skin, gastrointestinal, and ear issues which I suspected was due to food allergies or environmental allergies. The second Dr that saw her was incompetent, told me she should not be on the prescription diet for her urinary issues (even though the diet was helping), said she was too young to have urinary issues and that puppies just pee a lot, said he had a lot more experience than the first Dr I saw and to dimiss the first Dr's diagnosis, and blamed all of her obvious symptoms of allergies on an ear infection. I immediately took her to a different veterinarian clinic to which they promptly and accurately diagnosed her very obvious allergies and also suggested a recheck of her urine to make sure it was OK to switch her prescription diet. I don't recommend Veterinary Care Center and will not be coming back here.

They take 1-2 days or longer to review Chewy prescription requests. My other dog's vet always approves them the same day. Also, a current negative heartworm test from their office isn't enough for them to approve flea medication prescriptions; they also require an exam. My dog was overdue for her flea meds, and VCC wouldn't approve the prescription unless she came in for an exam. So I switched to a vet that doesn't have this ridiculous policy.
