Lost our dog while under their plan and VCA charged a cancellation fee to close the account. Grieving pet owners shouldn't have to fight over fees like this. How could we maintain a vet plan for a dead dog. Careful when you sign up. Do better, VCA.

Nice people but expensive but what isn't they are very thorough and always check in on you after you leave the office when your pet is sick
We've had such a wonderful experience at VCA Santa Monica Dog & Cat Hospital caring for our dog, Sparky, and our two cats, Izzy and Snowbird. **Dr. Hubbard, Dr. Johnson, and Dr. Fuhrman** have all been incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and compassionate. They take the time to get to know each of our pets, thoroughly answer all of our questions, and never make us feel rushed. It's clear they genuinely care about both their patients and the families who love them. The entire team is also very responsive and easy to reach whenever we have questions or concerns. The VCA app is fantastic—it makes accessing medical records, appointment information, messaging the hospital, and staying on top of each pet's care incredibly convenient. Ordering medications through the pharmacy has also been simple and hassle-free. The front desk staff are always warm, friendly, and attentive from the moment we walk in, and the veterinary technicians are equally wonderful. Everyone goes out of their way to make both us and our pets feel comfortable. We're so grateful to have found a veterinary team we trust completely with Sparky, Izzy, and Snowbird. We highly recommend VCA Santa Monica Dog & Cat Hospital to anyone looking for compassionate, high-quality veterinary care.
Read on GoogleMy dog’s nail had broken and the vein was almost showing so I brought her in to have them help. We knew that one would have to be trimmed and given numbing medicine on that one nail; however, I was waiting the longest I ever had to anywhere for a nail trim thinking that one was the problem and they were helping her. I asked how it was going at reception and they said everything was going fine. However, when she came out her white paws had turned a copper brown, and it wasn’t the paw we were worried about. They had cut into her other nail so badly that they couldn’t even clean it properly. My normal vet couldn’t get us in for a few weeks and it didn’t bother her, so didn’t seem bad enough for urgent care. They seemed to have good reviews online, so I thought it might be ok for something like this. Shame on me. Now I know why there were openings for a Monday. Next time I’m going to urgent care. If that’s how a simple nail trim goes, especially for a paw that should have never even had an issue, I’m never going back. No groomer has ever cut her that badly. Time to go get a lot of treats on the way home.
Read on GoogleAlright: I regret the previous review. I jumped the gun. Today (Fed 1st) got a call from Patty at VCA Sta Monica. She listen to me… which was quite.. refreshing! I super appreciated it. She heard me out. She took it like a pro she is. In short: I’m relieved to learn reviews are reviewed and VCA is on top of them and in turn committed to their customers. So five stars it is. I spend an average of 5 to 6k yearly on this one VCA location. Inevitably, the feeling is -at the end of the day- the only thing they really care is to find ways to squeeze the most money out of you. The minute I find a vet that puts pets first, I will never ever set foot on vca again.
