DTAH is the only vet for me, though I strayed from the light twice. I recently went to a different vet that was both closer and cheaper. But the experience was bad for me, as Downtown Animal Hospital has me absolutely spoiled. Dr Garrity and her team are thorough and compassionate, and they understand the bond we pet parents have with our babies. They take the time to explain everything, and for urgent needs, they usually can squeeze you in. They have cared for 6, soon to be 7, of the pets I’ve had in the last 15ish years, and I will not stray from them again! Yes, DTAH is a little pricier, but the quality of care is absolutely top notch. The process is open and the communication is excellent. And the staff is warm, friendly, and caring. 1,000,000 out of 10, I recommend this place!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful this veterinary practice is. The staff is so caring, genuinely concerned about our pets, and I’ve noticed that there is not much turnover – we have been going to them ever since I moved to downtown Louisville, almost 8 years ago. Dr. Garrity is extremely knowledgeable and so conscientious, but also so kind and gentle with our dogs. She actually calls us personally the day after every appointment, to see how our dogs are doing. When one of my dogs got into my purse and managed to open a child proof, bottle of medication and I found her with pills scattered all around the floor, we were able to have her at the vet’s office within less than 10 minutes – they dropped everything to make sure that she was safe. This place takes really good care of your animals! I was trying to find a new that after my old vet didn’t do my cat right! Dr. Garrity was so gentle with my cat and knew how to calm her down!
