Scout Veterinary Urgent Care - West Loop

I recently brought my dog, Desza, in to have her paw checked and to update some of her vaccines. Overall, the facility itself is very nice — clean, modern, and conveniently located. Having a parking lot directly next to the building was also a huge plus and made the visit easier. The staff at the front were friendly and welcoming, and it felt like they were expecting us when we arrived, which made check-in smooth. I worked with two different staff members, including Hannah, who was especially gentle and patient with Desza. Since Desza gets very nervous at the vet, I really appreciated Hannah trying to keep her calm and not make the experience more stressful for her. Working with the doctor was overall easy, but the experience was different from what I’m personally used to. I tend to value detailed explanations, reassurance, and confidence from a veterinarian, especially when something concerning is happening with my dog. Since Desza is my whole world and this issue was new and worrying to me, I was hoping for a little more confidence and communication around what was going on, the treatment process, and what to expect moving forward. I do want to give grace knowing it was the day after a holiday and urgent care environments can be very busy. At the same time, because this is an emergency/urgent care facility, I was surprised that answers weren’t more immediate and that lab work needed to be sent out with a 3–5 day wait for results. As a pet owner dealing with something concerning, that part was frustrating and unexpected. Overall, the staff was kind, the facility was great, and I’m hopeful for good follow-up once the lab results come back. I think stronger reassurance, communication, and confidence from the medical side would have made the experience feel much better for me as a worried dog owner.

After an extremely stressful situation with our little Chihuahua, this clinic was absolutely amazing. The staff was incredibly fast, kind, and welcoming from the moment we arrived. The front desk team was compassionate and reassuring, the veterinary assistant was wonderful, and the veterinarian herself was attentive, caring, and professional. What impressed us the most is that they even stayed after closing time to wait for our arrival after we explained the emergency situation over the phone. That level of compassion meant everything to us in that moment. You can genuinely feel that the people here truly love animals and care about what they do. That kind of energy matters so much when you come in scared and worried about your pet. Thankfully, our dog was examined quickly and we finally felt like we were in the right place. Very grateful for the care and kindness we received. ❤️

Today, our family had to say goodbye to our nearly 14 year old Shepard rescue, Bentley. For anyone who's ever had a family pet that you had to say goodbye to, you know that this is one of the most difficult things you will ever have to do in your life. That being said, we would be remiss if we didn't thank the wonderful staff at Scout Veterinarians Urgent Care (West Loop). From Megan (sp) who greeted us 2 hours before they even opened! To Dr. Monick who helped walk us through all of the options we had available with empathy and compassion! She has done an incredible job of creating an environment and staff who truly care about our furry family members! Every staff member we came in contact with was empathetic, understanding and gave us all the time we needed to say goodbye to our long time family member and companion. Our family can't thank Dr. Monick and her staff at Scout enough for making one of our family's most difficult days just a little easier!

Thank you to the staff at SCOUT for taking care of my baby!! I was able to get an appointment after hours, easily, they were so nice and caring with my dog and we were both really nervous/worried. Special thank you to vet tech Felicia, she loved my Oso and to Dr. Heaver she was so helpful! Thank you Scout!

Thank you to everyone at Scout Veterinary! My family and I are very grateful for how kind and gentle everyone were in the last moments of my dogs life. Unfortunately we had to put him down. He was the sweetest puppy.
