Read on GoogleI've been a patient at Queen City Animal Hospital for over five years, and I really wanted to give a fair picture of both what's worked and what hasn't, because my experience has changed a lot over time. When we first started coming here, it was fantastic. The staff were attentive, and both my pets and I always felt comfortable walking through the door. Unfortunately, over the past year or so, things have really gone downhill -- it seems to line up with when the practice switched to a new system. The front desk/admin team specifically has become a consistent problem. They rarely seem to know what's going on, and I've been asked basic questions (like whether my pets are on any medication) that should be right there in the chart before we even start talking. On more than one occasion, staff have mis-gendered my pet -- which is a pretty simple thing to double check. Beyond that, I've had to follow up multiple times just to get test results or other updates that should have been communicated proactively. I've also been billed for services that were never actually performed. Wait times have gotten progressively longer with each visit, and the cleanliness of the facility has noticeably declined. More than once, it seems like the team simply forgot I was there -- either waiting for discharge or waiting to be checked out of an exam room. To be clear, the veterinarians themselves are wonderful. They remember my pets, clearly care about their wellbeing, and I have no complaints about the actual medical care. But the surrounding administrative and operational issues have made it hard to trust the practice as a whole, and I don't feel confident continuing to bring my pets here. I'll be looking for a new vet, which is disappointing given how good things used to be.
I can’t say enough good things about my experiences here! You can feel the love and care as soon as you open the door! I’ve been a few times and been attended by different staff and always had a great experience. Immediate attention, patient explanations, and motivated by concern and not money. I have brought foster dogs there and they helped me promote, and brought a stray and they helped me see if there was a chip and did a general well being check in the lobby with me. Love this place- and Bloom and Bottle is a great place next door that’s dog friendly!
Read on GoogleIve been taking my pug, Funfetti to Queen City since I adopted her. Dr. Schuljak is amazing and listens to all concerns I have. And Stacey is her favorite vet tech who can handle my very happy wiggly girl! Highly recommend them for all my furbabies and reptiles 💕
Read on GoogleI am finally getting around to this review. I am deeply disappointed after years of my dog being a patient here. With each yearly wellness exam, I bring a note in my phone of questions to ask. One of the questions has always been, “Is it time for a dental cleaning?” I have always been told no, that his teeth are fine. At his most recent wellness exam here- June 2025- I was told, again, he does not need a dental cleaning. 6 months later- December 2025- I reached into my dog’s mouth to grab a piece of lint and discovered that his front teeth were loose and moving. Come to find out, he needed extensive surgery to have 13 teeth removed due to periodontal disease. My dog has now lost his entire upper front row of teeth, along with others. I ask constantly, how did we go from “Nope. He doesn’t need a dental cleaning yet” to 6 months later him needing surgery to remove 13 diseased teeth. I made an appointment to discuss this with his vet, Dr. Black. I felt gaslit… my concern was never addressed. She just kept repeating that small dogs get dental disease a lot. Yes, small dogs do. That does not explain why I was told “no” each time I asked if it was time for him to get a teeth cleaning. I told her I was disappointed in the lack of preventative care. She continued to sit there with zero accountability, empathy, or compassion. I would encourage owners to seek veterinarians who are more caring, thorough and truly value preventative care. As a RN, preventative care is one of the most important things we can do for our patients. I have never missed a wellness exam and I asked about the health of his teeth in every single exam he had. It was traumatic and heartbreaking to watch my dog go through such an extensive surgery. Instead, I trusted QCAH to properly assess my dog and trusted their judgment on him not needing cleanings, and I regret that I did.
