Read on GoogleThe good: conveniently located for me The bad: Dr. Virginia Brown’s care The frustrating: the push for higher billing I’m surprised Dr. Virginia Brown is still practicing. She pressured us to biopsy a lesion on our super senior dog that had been stable for 5+ years. I gave in and of course he had bleeding for weeks which was not previously explained as a potential side effect. While frustrating I understand complications happen but that was not the upsetting part. Dr. Brown called us to explain that our dog did have cancer and we should come in for further discussion, so we did. Well it turns out she read the biopsy report wrong and he did not have cancer. Even after that she continued to recommend removal just to be sure. I had hesitations on putting my senior dog under general anesthesia for an elective surgery but she kept insisting that there weren’t any risks associated with anesthesia. Any person knows that the riskiest portion of surgery for humans or animals is the anesthesia. Not only was her recommendation reckless but also dangerous. She continued to try and guilt me into having this elective surgery by saying “I wouldn’t want someone to not operate on me because of my age.” Any competent doctor would never recommend an elective surgery with general anesthesia to a human or animal in this stage of life. I was shocked and decided to never see her again. If you want someone competent at this location I would recommend Dr. Dass or Dr. Hynes who are both very good. The frustrating part is the ownership change to a large investment type firm that now prioritizes billing as opposed to patient care. There is a constant pressure to do diagnostic testing and to come back for test results or even further testing. Often within weeks of your prior visit. Prescriptions won’t be sent to outside pharmacies and you are encouraged to only use their own pharmacy. They will not continue to prescribe chronic medications without “recent” visits. For some reason, recent doesn’t cover appointments over two months. Does anyone’s doctor require being seen every two months to continue their medications? Probably not. That being said I’ll probably keep going for now just due to convenience.
Read on GoogleA BIG thank you to Dr. Brown for taking such good care of our pets for so many years. Dr. Brown is knowledgeable, kind and compassionate. I've always appreciated how well she listens to understand and determine what is best for our whole family, not just our pets. Thank you to Alison for also being kind and compassionate. Alison has treated our pets as if they were her own. I'm very grateful for you both!

Read on GoogleAbsolutely adore the staff at Oak Heart! Carolyn and Allison have truly made such a huge difference in the care for my cat. So grateful for their thoughtfulness, walking through procedures and needs, and being so patient with a cat who is a little anxious at vets. Highly recommend- always quick & thorough!
