Yelp
Everyone there was great. I called in advance saying I'd be there in 20 minutes and they put me on the schedule. My dog was in extreme pain from a pulled muscle. They took him back as soon as I entered and gave him pain meds and ultrasound of organs to insure no damage. Left with meds to take and dog made full recovery by next day.

I'm going to be as objective as possible in the hope that this helps someone else in a situation like mine.
I brought my dog here because I needed an emergency ultrasound after finding a large mass on his spleen earlier that morning. They were kind enough to fit us in for a last-minute ultrasound (for a $255 emergency appointment fee). The ultrasound confirmed that the mass had already ruptured.
I asked if they could operate that same night. I was told it would cost at least another $4,000 to do it that night. Instead, they scheduled a pre-operative consultation for the following day (another $255), and surgery would have taken place the day after that even tho they knew my dog was already bleeding internally (they gave me anti hemorrhage herb supplements for $67)
Right after he was discharged, he started urinating dark brown. I immediately came back to let them know. Their response was essentially, "We'll stick to the game plan. We'll see you tomorrow for the first consultation.
Fortunately, my first vet choice, called me back early Monday morning and after I explained the situation. Their response was: "We need to operate immediately."
They came to my house to pick up my dog at no charge, performed another ultrasound at no charge, and took him straight into surgery without asking for a single dollar upfront.
The surgery was successful. Afterward, the surgeon told me that if we had waited one more day, my dog likely would not have survived.
I'm not writing this to hurt this establishment. The staff was very friendly, as you would expect when you're paying nearly $1,000 for an emergency visit and ultrasound.
I'm writing this to help anyone who may find themselves in the same situation. If your pet has a life-threatening emergency, trust your instincts and act fast.
For me, choosing Sevilla Veterinary Hospital saved my dog's life.

Waited on hold for 30 minutes (after being transferred to Oncology) only to be told that the oncology team was unavailable and that I would need to call back the next day. When I asked if I could receive a convenient call back in hopes to schedule a consultation, I was told that they could take my information but could not guarantee a call back. It's strange to call and disclose the emotional shock of your your cat needing cancer treatment and then receive little consideration for the client experience, the time spent over the and the emotional energy it takes to navigate something like this. I did receive clarification through this interaction that this place is not in alignment with where I would like to take my cat for treatment. After hanging up, I called another specialty care center and scheduled an appointment within minutes. Some extra consideration for patients while navigating a sensitive and overwhelming process would prove beneficial for the MASH team and would help build trust between new clients and their operations.
I've been in LA 14 years , I've been a parent to 4 dogs so I've seen my share of veterinary clinics and hospitals.
I've been to MASH twice now; both times they were kind, empathetic, quick, organized and the care was direct and professional!
This is my new go to vet hospital in LA . VCA nope, LASSER nope, ACCESS hell no.
MASH. Yes

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Metropolitan Animal Specialty Hospital (MASH)! My cat is an absolute handful - I know this, I own it- but the entire staff treats her like she's the sweetest patient they've seen all day! They appreciate her sass. They come out after every visit to tell me how much they love her, even though I know she's giving them attitude the whole time. They're patient with her and make sure she's comfortable no matter what.
Special shout out to Dr. Uematsu and Dexter for the amazing care!! They keep me updated every step of the way, so I never feel like I'm in the dark about what's happening with my cat. They explain things in detail, but not SO much where I'm overwhelmed. They've really just been so amazing!
One more huge plus: they work directly with Trupanion's insurance software, so I don't even have to file the claim myself. They submit it on their end, and mine was preapproved within five minutes. That kind of efficiency takes so much stress off an already stressful vet visit! It also lessens the deposit needed.
Highly recommend MASH to anyone who wants a team that genuinely cares about their pet and makes the whole process easy!
