I have been taking my Shikoku here for the past 4 years. They have always helped me with all her problems and i love that the booking system is so easy and convenient. I have nationwide pet insurance and they always give me a diagnosis and invoice to get things covered, which is a relief.
My dog has had all kinds of issues she has had to be seen for, and she can be reactive with other dogs and anxious with shots. I've had nothing but positive experiences here with all the staff.
Last year my dog had to have 5 teeth removed, and they did a wonderful job, she healed up perfectly after the surgery. I don't really trust many people with my dog, but i definitely recommend Mercer Street Vet.
I cannot say enough good things about Mercer Street Vets. I had a geriatric cat I loved to pieces, and they showed him just as much caring as I could has asked for. As a 20+ year old cat, they did the right tests and got his medications right. They were so caring, he was always happy to go there - which says a lot. The front desk staff was always professional and friendly, as was everyone. For complicated pets, or any pet, I would highly, highly recommend. They have clinical acumen and are good people!
My Great Dane, Beau, was a patient here. We truly love this location. They usually were able to get us in on short noticed if needed. Before any services were rendered, a tech would show prices on a screen so there was transparency. Similar to many things on the west coast, it can be pricey but really not any different from other local downtown vets. There is also the option to find certain products on Amazon, Chewy, etc and sometimes even recommended by staff to save clients some money. All staff is very friendly and truly seem to love their job and the animals they care for. Around holidays, pets usually get a cute bandana tied on them to match the theme. This location does dispense some meds. Others meds will need a prescription to take to a local pharmacy. The caveat is that the vet will only do a physical hardcopy of a prescription, which is kind of a downfall if you're trying to get something fast.
I eventually had to make the decision for my Beau to cross the rainbow bridge. It was a very hard time for us, but the staff was so unbelievably caring. The doctor on staff that day even got on the floor and cried with me and was really supporting; this really stuck out to me. A few weeks later, we even got a signed card from everyone on staff, which was really heartwarming.
Overall, a really great place to take your pet. There's free on-site parking, which is even better when you're trying to load and unload a pet. They're a super friendly and caring staff. Check it out!

Incredibly grateful to have such an excellent vet right around the corner. Dr. Teyssier and her team are exactly what a veterinary hospital should be: high standards of medicine coupled with wonderful people who truly care about your pets wellbeing. I’ve entrusted my three kiddos to them over the past four years and we’ve all had nothing but good experiences. From routine wellness visits to surgeries and more complex diagnosis, they have taken such good care of my senior dog/cat and kitten. I wish they saw human patients because I would be first in line.
We wanted to thank the team from the bottom of our hearts. They took such amazing care of our lovely dog, Chia.
Chia had cancer twice, the first time we were able to go through a successful surgery and recovery, all because of the clinic fast diagnosis.
The second time she was diagnosed was 1.5 years later, she had terminal cancer. For months the team did everything to try and make Chia comfortable and happy as much as possible. They were so sensitive and caring when it was time to say goodbye. We appreciated all of you so much!
