Yelp
I love the staff, love Dr. Trout. They're super sweet and always take good care of my baby. I would recommend this place to anyone who asked. However:
They lost a star because of one Dr. who is the worst diagnostician I've ever encountered. Human or pet. My puppy who is potty trained, was suddenly peeing outside of her playpens and licking her vulva a lot. I knew this was a sign something was up. The only thing Dr. Rios did right was order a urinalysis. She called up and was sweet on the phone; which was nice because in person she was belittling and made me feel like every answer I gave her was wrong; interesting, from someone so clearly green.
On the phone, she told me what they found in her urine. Crystals (but she said don't worry, those probably formed after the collection was taken; blood (she said my 4 month old puppy was probably getting her period), a VERY very high white blood cell count (didn't really address). She then told me to order douxo wipes and wipe her vulva every day for the next 3 days, then see how she was doing. These are antibacterial wipes.
The next day I demanded antibiotics for my puppy because I didn't want her white blood cell count getting higher. I know you need to treat these things quickly. If it's a UTI, it can get into her kidneys. Dr. Rios prescribed me a chemistry kit basically, to administer to my dog. I looked online and realized this same antibiotic also comes in a pill form, and don't know why she gave me the most ridiculous antibiotic setup on the market. But I'm a phlebotomist so it was fine, I just thought it was odd.
After taking my dog to an Urgent Care, the vet there told me there was no bacteria in her urinalysis. And her white blood cell count was elevated, but not crazy high like Dr. Rios has said. So Rios had me treating me dog for external bacteria when there was never bacteria and a high white blood cell count is clearly internal. Is this making sense? I almost paid thousands in invasive tests on my puppy because that was the advice given to me when I couldn't figure out what was wrong with her.
Then I started asking google. I googled each symptom, and what possible causes could be and my jaw straight dropped when I realized. I was right to get the antibiotics. My dog CLEARLY and obviously had a UTI. She has an aversion to water, which I'd mentioned. Her urine became concentrated and formed crystal. Those crystals went through her urethra, causing internal cuts, causing her to bleed. Thus causing internal infection and a UTI. This makes sense. It makes so much sense.
Now, as a doctor, why would you take all the symptoms from one place (her urine) and pretend like all of these symptoms are individual events?? How do you not link them together? As a doctor, who I assume deals with UTIs as a very common occurrence, how do you not know the very basic symptoms of a UTI? Is it negligence? I wonder if this doctor needs a supervisor while practicing because if this is the way you think about medicine, you are not ready to practice on your own. Symptoms tell a story; and if you can't see that story as a doctor, if you can't diagnose the most basic of illness', this is a problem. That was a week of hell, and I'm glad I persisted and we got through. But that was a week of hell.
That being said, Dr. Trout is lovely and intelligent, and we will be back; but we will see Dr. Trout, and not Dr. Rios.

It is so hard to put into words how grateful we are to everyone at Media City Vet for the incredible care they gave our sweet Miss Kitty throughout her life.
She was a longtime patient of Dr. Deegan and later Dr. Rios, and we could not have asked for more compassionate, attentive veterinarians. Because of her IBS, she required ongoing care and medication, and they always took the time to listen, answer our questions, and do everything they could to help her live a happy and comfortable life. Every visit, we knew she was in caring and capable hands. We are equally grateful for the wonderful veterinary technicians and staff, who were always so gentle, kind, and loving with her.
About a week ago, we had to rush Miss Kitty in because she suddenly couldn't walk. At 17 years old, we knew in our hearts this might be the moment we had been dreading.
Neither of her regular veterinarians were available that day, so we were seen by Dr. Bazlova, and I truly believe she was exactly who we needed.
She examined Miss Kitty thoroughly and made sure nothing was overlooked, but when it came time to talk with us, she delivered the heartbreaking news with such honesty, gentleness, and compassion. She never made us feel rushed or pressured. Instead, she gave us the privacy we needed to process what we were hearing, cry together, and talk through what was best for our girl.
When we decided that at-home euthanasia would be the most peaceful way to say goodbye, Dr. Bazlova walked us through everything with so much care and understanding. She answered our questions, supported us through an impossible decision, and gave us the reassurance we needed to know we were making the most loving choice for Miss Kitty.
Losing a pet who has been part of your family for 17 years is absolutely heartbreaking. While nothing could take away that pain, we are so thankful for the compassion we were shown every step of the way, not just during her final visit, but throughout the many years she was a patient at Media City Vet.
Thank you to Dr. Deegan, Dr. Rios, Dr. Bazlova, and every member of the staff for loving Miss Kitty so well. Your kindness, patience, and genuine care meant more to our family than you'll ever know. We will always be grateful for the role you played in giving our sweet girl such a wonderful life.
After my last yearly appointment for my dog, I decided I needed a new vet. This office clearly has a quota to meet for various procedures, as indicated by the vet walking into the room and, before even looking at my dog, started demanding that dental work was needed.
Dr. Bazlova preceded to comment, while looking at her computer screen, that my dog's paw's looked much healthier than last year. (My dog has never had any issues with his paws). The rest of the appointment was a conversation over my concern with having my dog sedated for unnecessary dental work, and she could do nothing but continue to suggest additional unnecessary procedures.
She was very aware of the clock and eager to get the heck out and to her next appointment. I can't say the problem is with her personally, but likely the policies of this office/practice. The vet's are very clearly trying to meet a quota. They should be ashamed, as they're the reason people can't trust their veterinarian. They're just trying to make a buck.
I found a much better veterinarian -- they do exist! But this place is NOT ONE. I would absolutely NEVER RECOMMEND.

Yelp
I wish I had found this practice years ago. This is an amazing place to take your pets, the doctors are all excellent and the staff is very friendly and helpful as well. You can't go wrong here and I especially am grateful to Dr. Fogel and Dr. Chan for their excellent treatment of my babies. They are all in heaven now, but I am grateful for this practice helping them, especially as they became senior citizens.

Yelp
I would give Media City Animal Hospital 10 stars if I could. Whether our dogs need preventive care or are facing a serious health issue, the entire team takes the time to listen, answer our questions, and provide thoughtful, compassionate care. We never feel rushed, and it's clear they genuinely care about both our pets and our family. Everyone, from the front desk staff to the technicians and veterinarians, is kind, professional, and dedicated. We are incredibly grateful for the exceptional care they have provided over the years to our dachshunds, and we recommend Media City Animal Hospital without hesitation.
