Yelp
I swear this place truly is the best vet in LA, I'm writing this as I'm still here. They're seeing my dog, Zoey, a Great Dane. They're just nice staff and vet all around and make you feel comfortable! My dog hates the vet (IYKYK) and here she's cool and doesn't get wild on me!

Yelp
I've been coming to this veterinary office for 2 years. I liked it because it was affordable but today made me realize that it's important to look for quality over affordability. I took my pet in for a nail clipping service and they cut the quick which ultimately led to bleeding in her nail. I noticed once I got into my car in the parking lot, took a picture to show them, but I didn't need it because her nail was bleeding while we were in the lobby waiting to get help. I asked for a refund because they gave me my dog without telling me what happened. The workers were not helpful. They explained that they could not refund because they did the service. I understood, and asked for a 50% refund because they handled the situation poorly. I understand mistakes happen. But to do it and not tell me anything, leading me to find out on my own shows the true integrity of this office. They work only for business purposes and not for the true well being of the pets. For the past two years I've gone, they check you in 30-40min after your scheduled appointment time. There's only 6 parking spots in the lot. Wellness checks for pets have changed to having them in their back room and talking about them over the phone. There's no true connection. But like I said I went because it was affordable. This was my experience and I wanted to share because it was really disappointing and I wouldn't want anyone to got through this with their pets. Because our pets are family.

Yelp
This is our regular vet, and we love Dr. Ramirez. Unfortunately, they have overbooked themselves to the point where it is miserable to go. I'm watching people in the office, it is such a disorganized madhouse it was making me anxious just sitting there watching it. If this was my first experience coming there I would never go there again

This clinic has gone downhill over the past few years. Appointments are hard to book, and I’ve left messages with no callback.
More seriously, they run unnecessary tests to drive up the bill. On our last visit, I brought my dog in for what I knew was fleas. He gets anxious at the vet, and staff used that anxiety to justify running tests without my consent, including multiple blood panels and scans, beyond the single blood test I’d approved. They came back saying he might have cardiac issues and intestinal parasites, then ultimately concluded it was just fleas. I had to argue to get over $500 in unauthorized charges removed. My dog spent three hours in the back room and came out traumatized and dehydrated.
The new front desk staff are also unprofessional and short with clients.
After six years with this clinic, I’m done. Looking for a vet with better organization and people who actually care about the animals, not one that treats every visit as an upsell opportunity.
Avoid Dr. Cano; unprofessional doctor
And crystal; medicore -front desk clerk
We've been bringing our pets to LAVC Boyle Heights for 6-7 years, but the decline in service has become increasingly hard to ignore. We kept coming back for the convenient location--until today.
I arrived 15 minutes early for my dog's 2:30 PM appointment. At check-in, the front desk (Crystal) asked me to prepay, which was new to me. When I asked what services were included, she said only vaccines. I had previously requested microchipping a week ago, but that wasn't noted. She mentioned a 3 PM cancellation slot, but I told her to hold off since I couldn't stay much longer.
After waiting over an hour, I asked a different tech about the delay. Then Crystal blurted she had moved my appointment to 3 PM to include all services--something she NEVER communicated; which I pointed out to her, I asked to speak with a supervisor and continued waiting.
We were finally taken to a room, and 15 minutes later (total of 1hr 15min LATER) , the doctor entered and accused *ME* of being disrespectful to her staff--which is completely FALSE. I believe the front staff member BLATANTLY LIED to cover her own condescending and unprofessional behavior. I was upfront with the doctor and encouraged her to review the cameras.
As a business owner myself, I know you never put a customer on the defensive--especially when your feelings are hurt because someone called out poor service. That's a training issue, not mine.
This experience was not only upsetting but also makes me question how much the doctors enable their staff's mediocrity. The lack of communication, professionalism, and customer service is evident from the moment you walk in.
I stand by my word: !!! review the cameras!!!
I was never disrespectful--not once.
