Long Beach Animal Urgent Care

We took our cat, Anna, to see Dr. Colwill yesterday, and our experience was thoroughly positive! Anna was constipated (for 5 days), and Dr. Colwill took an x-ray of her bowel and then recommended an enema and a subcutaneous fluid injection. We took Anna home, and within two hours she was regular again. Dr. Colwill was a very good listener, a great diagnostician, and he couldn't have been nicer as a person. His staff was equally professional and kind. We feel very lucky to know that Dr. Colwill is available should we ever need emergency care in the future. Five stars for LBAUC, for sure!

Brought my dog in at 2:45 on a Monday afternoon for 2 days of a massive allergic reaction. My vet unable to see us until tomorrow & my boy began to vomit so I knew he needed urgent care. The front desk was incredibly welcoming & it was an easy check in. We were put in a room within 10 minutes & the vet tech came in for the initial eval. She was thorough, careful of my sensitive not & listened carefully to our concerns. She let us know the vet would be in momentarily and not even 5 minutes later he came in. He listened to all of my concerns and explained how dogs experience shock with their GI tract so it was good I brought him in once he started vomitting. He recommended labs, x-rays, an anti nausea medication and steroids. I opted for the medications but not labs or X-rays. There was NO pressure at all to include them, but rather just an option given. My boy got his injection & we were out of there in probably 45 minutes tops. Our discharge instructions included his at home Benadryl dosage and schedule, as well as an explanation of severe allergic reactions in dogs. We will definitely be back for our urgent care needs!

Long wait to check in, mostly due to the front desk lady being really disorganized. Long wait to get seen when they appeared not too busy. Don't recommend.

My dog had been limping after playing outside in the yard and I came to this vet to get it checked out. When I came into this vet office, I heard a man berating at staff. I was really I a bind and needed to get my dog checked out so I stayed. Turns out my dog had a foxtail that needed to be removed. I went ahead with treatment and the vet was snarky the whole time and rolling his eyes at me. He goes ahead and takes the foxtail out but even after a few days, my dogs paw was still swollen so I go back, he had not taken the foxtail all the way out and still charged me the $100 exam fee. If you missed it the first time, I should not be charged the second time around when the VET didn’t take it all the way out. I thought it was really unprofessional and I will never be coming here again. I tell all of my friends to never come here!

Due to an unfortunate meal choice our pitbull Junior made we had to rush him on Memorial Day. BEST choice of care we could have picked for our boy. The staff, from front desk all the way back to support staff and then the incredible vet himself were amazing. They were extremely compassionate and kind to Junior and us. We had to leave him there for roughly 6-7 hours for care and upon picking him up at 9:30 pm I knew the moment I interacted again with staff and saw my boy that he had received outstanding care and was in the best place possible with the best people. Thank you to each and every one of you that took care of my boy. I would 100% recommend this office for your veterinary needs and have found the only place I will be bringing our fur babies back to!!!
