I brought my 13 year old lab for what we thought was joint pain. It turned out to be Degenerative Myelopathy, a diagnosis that the vet completely missed and the arthritis medication he was prescribed nearly killed him. The vet seemed more interested in scolding us for his dental hygiene than looking into what we know now were very obvious signs of DM. After adding in a blood test upcharge for his thyroid and trying to sell the medication for double the price we will not be back. We are relieved his condition has improved after stopping the medication but we will not be back.
I was seeing a vet in North Hollywood that left me feeling skeptical & constantly dismissed & decided to switch over to Larchmont Village Vet. Best decision I've ever made for my kitties :)
They are so thorough with every visit, ask lots of questions & never eager to rush me out with a random bill. All the vets are so gentle with their furry patients & i love that i can always get an appointment, even if it's in a pinch / hurry!

Really upsetting to have to write this after so many years of bringing my dog here, along with my brother bringing both of his pets as well.
Last Wednesday, my dog suddenly woke up unable to walk, something was clearly wrong with his back right leg. Larchmont couldn’t see him until Friday, so I took him to an emergency vet in the meantime to manage his pain.
On Friday, I dropped him off and he was seen by Dr. Drayton, who told me there was a swollen knot on his back leg and prescribed an anti-inflammatory.
The next day, Saturday, I received a voicemail asking how my dog was doing. Unfortunately, he had taken a turn for the worse, his leg began bleeding profusely.
I rushed him back in, but a vet tech (who I will say was a very nice man and I want to exclude from the horrible experience) saw him for a few seconds and told me they couldn’t see him at all and that I needed to go to an emergency vet.
While that was incredibly frustrating, I do understand that clinics have schedules and limited availability.
What I cannot accept, however, was the level of care and compassion shown in that moment.
From the front desk, specifically Alicia, who showed little to no empathy both that day and during my appointment the day before, to the overall response from the team, I felt completely dismissed. No one helped guide me to an emergency facility, and I was made to feel like an inconvenience during a genuinely frightening situation.
Most upsetting of all, I asked multiple times if I could briefly speak with Dr. Drayton. I was told he didn’t have even five minutes.
He walked past me in the waiting room twice, and when I called out to him, he didn’t acknowledge me at all. This is a vet who has treated my dog for seven years, and in a moment of crisis, when my dog was actively bleeding, he couldn’t spare even a brief moment of reassurance.
I also requested both in person and over the phone that he follow up with me. I have yet to hear anything from anyone at the clinic.
My dog ended up having a ruptured abscess and required emergency surgery.
At this point, I no longer feel I have a reliable vet for follow-up care, and any hope that this situation would be addressed has been lost due to the complete lack of communication.
TL;DR: After nearly a decade as a loyal client, during my dog’s first serious medical emergency, I received no compassion, no communication, and not even a moment of acknowledgment from the vet who had treated him for years. Gutted.

Last Wednesday my dog woke up unwilling to walk. Something was clearly happening with his right back. Larchmont was unable to see him until Friday. Fine. Took him to emergency vet and got something for his pain while I waited to see his regular vet. Friday he's dropped off, and seen by Dr Drayton who tells me he has a knot on his back leg, that it's swollen and given an anti inflammatory.
Saturday they leave me a message asking how my dog is doing, well as it turns out my dog was not doing well at all. He was profusely bleeding from his leg suddenly. I can in a rush and a vet tech saw him for 30 seconds before telling me that I had to go to an Emergency vet cause they had no time to see him at all.
I begged to have them squeeze him in, see if there was anything they could do cause I felt so much safer knowing he was in the care of his regular doctor. They very flatly denied that. Again, look, while I find this incredibly frustrating I understand that they have their schedule and limited availability.
What really bothered me and I found unacceptable was the service I got. Not only from Alicia at the reception who even when I came in for my appointment the day before showed zero empathy or care when I asked for an update on when it seemed like he could be seen but also from the team when I asked if there was any way that I could please speak to Dr Drayton. They flat out denied me, told me he did not even have 5 minutes to come out and talk to me. He actually walked past me in the waiting room twice, once I even called out his name, and he didn't so much as turn his head to look. I'm just honestly in disbelief that my dog's vet of SEVEN YEARS, didn't even have 5 min to provide any amount of comfort or care or generally show any interest to a pet who he'd seen the day before, who was actively bleeding in the reception.
I also requested both in person and over the phone that he follow up with me. I have yet to hear anything from anyone at the clinic.

I inherited an elderly Maltese a year ago and sadly, she had a stroke and needed to join her owner. This vet was so good about handling the care without insane overcharging, or long lines, I think about switching care for my dog from the vet I've used for more than 20 years.
This clinic has not reached the certification score, and we have no accreditation or service records for it yet.
