I've been bringing my older (13 yo) dog here for several years. Everything has gone very smoothly, and today I was blown away by the pricing: He's grown a few lumps over the last couple months so I brought him in to check. They did the biopsy and analysis on three of them, and gave me the (benign) results in less than an hour. All for $143.
I see people complain about pricing, but don't forget that the prices of vaccines and meds are controlled by big pharma, not by the vet! If you want to complain about that, you need to complain to Congress, not to the vet.

I couldn’t be more impressed with this office. They were all so kind to myself and my dog. We just moved on island 3 weeks ago and our dog got sick quite unexpectedly. I called on a Sunday and they graciously fit us in. They didn’t say I needed to do every single test but told me what would be best to start with based on most likely scenarios but also gave me the option to do more if I’d wanted. As all animal owners know going to the vet is an expensive reality. I appreciated feeling as though they were providing care without adding on unnecessary things from the beginning. I also appreciated the quotes given before treatment. The honesty was refreshing. Everyone there from the front desk, vet techs, and vet seemed to genuinely care about my dog. The service provided, the kindness of the staff, and the willingness to see us was great.
I took my dog Ohana to King Street Pet Hospital for her health certificate exam, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the experience. From the moment we walked in, the entire staff was professional, courteous, and genuinely caring. Ohana can be pretty anxious during vet visits, but the veterinarians and technicians went above and beyond to make her feel safe, comfortable, and at ease. They took their time with her, used a calm and reassuring approach, and treated her with so much kindness and patience. It was clear they truly care about the well-being of the animals they see. The exam was thorough, and the staff explained everything clearly while answering all of my questions. The entire process was smooth, efficient, and stress free. Seeing how comfortable they made Ohana feel gave me a lot of confidence and peace of mind.
If you’re looking for a veterinary clinic with knowledgeable, compassionate professionals who genuinely care about your pet, I highly recommend King Street Pet Hospital. Thank you to the entire team for taking such great care of Ohana! 🐾❤️
I brought my new 3-month-old puppy in for her first exam and checkup, and unfortunately, the experience started off poorly the moment I walked in. The woman working at the front desk was extremely rude and unwelcoming. Thankfully, another staff member stepped in and said they would still see my puppy, even though I had accidentally forgotten the paperwork from when I got her.
Once we were in the exam room, the experience continued to be disappointing. The veterinary assistant would not give my puppy back to me and spent the entire appointment holding and playing with her. She stood between my boyfriend and the vet, making it difficult for him to see the exam or communicate with the doctor. It felt inappropriate and uncomfortable, especially during my puppy's first visit when I was trying to understand her health and care.
The biggest concern, however, was the reason I brought her in. Since we got her, she has had a very itchy ear. I brought this up to the vet, but I was told it was just a little dirt and that she was fine. After leaving, I felt uneasy and did not feel confident that my puppy received the thorough care she needed.
I decided to take her to Manoa Vet, where they immediately took an ear sample and discovered she had a yeast infection. Thankfully, they caught it before it became worse and we are now treating it. I am extremely disappointed that this concern was dismissed so quickly, especially in a 3-month-old puppy who is fully indoors. A proper test should have been done instead of an assumption being made.
Veterinary care requires patience, compassion, and attention to detail. This is Hawai'i, where we value aloha and treat our families--including our furry family members, with love and respect. Unfortunately, I did not feel that care here. Nor did I feel the Aloha!
I will not be returning and have found the level of care and compassion I was looking for at Manoa Vet.

Maui, my four-year-old Angora cat, suffered an injury that led to a severe infection affecting her nervous system. As her condition worsened, we tried to secure an emergency appointment at King Street Pet; however, communication via chat was difficult, and the receptionist showed little willingness to help. Later, when we called, she downplayed the symptoms--claiming that losing her balance was "normal"--and rudely hung up. We were simply seeking urgent care for Maui, yet the only appointment offered was for Thursday.
