Kenwood Pet Clinic

I have a very nervous cat and Dr. MacKinnon was so patient with her. She even did most of her exam while leaving her in her carrier to make her more comfortable. I've also had to bring my cat in a few times for unexpected health issues and they've always been able to get us in within a week.

We love Kenwood Clinic! Taking our furriest family members to a veterinarian owned and operated practice has made all the difference when it comes to cost, care, and convenience. The attention and dedication of Kenwood's physicians and staff has exceeded all of our expectations!

This is by far the best Vet clinic in the metro area. All of the veterinarians are extremely knowledgable and expert in providing a full range of care to our dogs and cat. Dr Turino performed successful tightrope surgery on both knees of one of our dogs, restoring full use of her legs at half the cost and half the recovery time of other knee fix surgeries recommended to us by other vets. The tech staff is also outstanding and the office staff makes every effort to provide service that is superb. And everyone is super nice. All our animal actually enjoy visiting Kenwood Pet Clinic.

Our girl Donut was a patient here for only a little over a year but we had moved to Minneapolis late in her life and were seeking a positive, compassionate practice for a dog with a history of being dramatic at the vet (scared and didn’t care for other animals), and who we could trusted with solid health and quality-of-life care for a senior. She ended up being a pretty frequent flyer because of all the health problems you’d expect to crop up in a pit bull 13-14 years old. In one of her first visits while we were in town looking for a home, Dr. Gilje diagnosed an issue that had been worrying us for a while but that no specialist we’d tried before could figure out (it was GOLPP) and that directed us to some simple solutions that helped immensely. We treated her doggy dementia and sundowns here as well as a difficult string of UTIs. We saw all four vets here and they were all wonderful as were the techs. It was nice that when we brought her in, the staff that had seen her before knew just who she was. It’s great when veterinary staff are very positive about your dog, but especially if you’ve ever experienced them being stigmatized in the clinic setting. Sadly, we recently said goodbye to Donut, and used an in-home service for this, but the care she received at Kenwood kept her as comfortable and healthy as possible for as long as possible in her last year before her quality of life diminished too far as a function of her old, old age. Thanks to the staff for taking such good care of our sweet girl, and for calling us promptly when her ashes were delivered so that we could bring her home ASAP. Whenever we’re ready to welcome another dog into our home, we won’t hesitate to use Kenwood Pet Clinic again.

Kenwood Pet Climic has been our vet for all our animals (2 dogs,9 cats) since we moved to Minneapolis in 1979. Throughout it all - emergency surgery when a kitten ate a dime, to routine checkups, we and our pets have received the best of care from the nicest of people.
