My senior cat Adriel had kidney disease and a the regular patient of another pet hospital. They didn't have an emergency / urgent care on site, so I brought my cat here, where he was seen by Dr. Fong a few times. Those few times extended his life and substantially improved his quality of life. For that, we are so grateful.
Dr. Fong is a genuine animal lover. You would think that is a given in this field, but it's not. The difference in treatment and care my cat got from him and his staff was immediately apparent. The costs of his services were reasonable. Most importantly, he was transparent about where his limitations were and ultimately referred us to AMC in the Fillmore to see a specialist, who put our cat on the appropriate medication.
Sadly, about two years after we first walked in here, my cat ultimately passed at the age of 16. We had already switched over to AMC for over a year, but the news reached Dr. Fong, and he made a donation in Adriel's name to the UC Davis Veterinary Center. We are very touched by the kind gesture.

Great vet! My dog needed to be seen urgently at the last minute, and they were able to get us into their urgent care walk-in clinic right away. The entire staff was incredibly friendly. They took great care of her, thoroughly evaluated her, and explained everything clearly. I’m so grateful for the excellent care!
I almost gave them one star… the vet did take care my pup before so that is great. But I had an emergency today where Tilly ate 4 double chocolate cookies and the reception said she recommends bringing her in. So I did, within 20 mins of the call. Turns out the urgent care receptionist forgot to tell the technicians she was coming so they went home. Foul and unprofessional. I had hard time doing 2 stars because I bring Tilly in regularly, but that was not right. You knew I was worried and you forgot to tell the doctors. I’m not sure what makes you think that is ok, and I’m sorry it was after 6 pm but wow….
I have actually never left a Yelp review before, but I felt so inclined to because of how terrible my experience was with Irving Pet Hospital. When I booked the appointment on the phone, I warned them, that my dog can get pretty feisty and growly, but they told me it was ok to bring her in.
I brought her in for a quick check-up for adding ear drops into her ears, since she gets ear infections fairly often. They proceeded to add all these extra services to the point where my bill was going to be about $1,000. Luckily because this isn't my first rodeo with my dog's ear infections, I knew they were adding all these extra services that weren't necessary, trying to weed any money out from me.
They ended up telling me that the doctor couldn't put the ear drops in because of my dog being feisty and anxious, even though I had warned them about it on the phone. Yet, they still charged me $96 for the appointment, even though they did nothing for my dog!

Last time we visited Irving Pet Hospital, we were fortunate to have Dr. Jessika take care of our dog. She did an amazing job removing a foxtail that had been lodged deep in our dog’s paw for 4–5 days. We were especially impressed that she was able to remove it without sedation, which made the experience far less stressful for our dog.
We truly appreciate Dr. Jessika’s skill, care, and compassion. We’ve always had wonderful experiences with every veterinarian at Irving Pet Hospital, and we’re so grateful to have such a dedicated team care for our furry family member. Highly recommend!
