Central Houston Animal Hospital

Central Animal Hospital literally saved my cat’s life. They had great follow through. Everyone from the front desk staff to vet techs, groomer, and the vets themselves are truly wonderful, outstanding, compassionate, great with dogs and cats, very knowledgeable, great with people, above and beyond in their helpfulness and all at reasonable prices. After each appointment, they called the next day to check on my cat. They stabilized his health and turned it around for the better and followed up to ensure he stayed in good health. This is my go to vet hospital and back up to my regular vet for whenever my pet needs more specialized care and expertise. They also do regular pet grooming and regular vet visits too. Truly a gem for pet care in Houston.

Incredibly kind staff who were able to take in my kitty after her regular vet was booked up. They were very thorough in their diagnostics and were transparent with pricing. Most of all, they treated my kitty with such kindness and compassion!

I would not recommend this clinic based on my experience. After I disputed the charges with my bank, the clinic submitted documents as evidence claiming they had sent me my USDA health certificate. However, when I reviewed the evidence they provided, the email shown was addressed internally between their own staff rather than to my email address. Based on the documentation they submitted, I never actually received the USDA health certificate they claimed had been sent to me. Because of that evidence, my bank initially denied my dispute. I had to call my bank and explain that the email they submitted was not sent to me at all. It appears to show an internal email between employees, not an email delivered to the customer. In addition to that, communication throughout the process was poor, fees were not clearly explained upfront, and I did not receive the documents I needed before my travel date. The entire experience caused unnecessary stress and forced me to make last-minute arrangements for my service dog. I expected transparency, timely communication, and accurate documentation. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

This vet offered to work with CAP (charity for animals) for a free animal checkup but because I adopted on a weekend, I missed the 72 hour window by 6-7 hours (they're closed on Sundays!). The mgr told me he could see my pet but "for a fee" and my response is, "Why on earth would I pay you one cent for any service, if you can't manage to maintain your word in the beginning?!" (I'm good - I will find a reputable vet.) My advice to the consumer is to find a veterinarian that actually cares about the community.

I brought my lab and golden retriever for a walk in visit and Dr Reid and the technician Dennis were absolutely amazing! Dr Reid is patient and attentive. It was the first time a vet mentioned medication to my 11 yo lab to manage daily arthritis pain. Most vets in the past have only recommended daily supplements making us think it is a common issue. I am happy to have found this place!
