Buckman Veterinary Clinic

This veterinary office is a gem! A caring, thoughtful, and patient staff can make all the difference when taking your frightened pet to the doctor. Every person here does what they can to make every experience stress free for both the animals and their care-takers. Top quality medical care practiced by understanding and compassionate veterinarians and support staff is what you will receive when you bring your fur family to Buckman. 100% recommend.

I've been coming here for over a year now. More recently, my cat has had a mystery injury that is a bit beyond the scope of what they can treat in clinic, but the compassion, the clarity, and dedication I've seen in every vet and technician (and I think I've seen all of them at this point) is why I will gladly be keeping them as my cat's primary care center. I can't recommend them enough, your pet will be in good hands!

Can’t say enough good things about Buckman Vet!!! We’ve been going for 2.5 years and when we started with Buckman Vet, we had what we thought a previous vet told us was just a “low energy puppy” but Dr. Lord was able to spot and diagnose our pup with an underactive thyroid, getting this addressed and treated has been a game changer for his quality of life. They are always kind and accommodating with my questions or concerns, prompt to get back to us, and I truly feel they will always do what is best for our dogs. Even when we move out of the Buckman area, we will continue with Buckman Vet! Appreciate each and every employee!!

I moved to Portland a couple of years ago and did tons of research before choosing a vet for my senior cat, Sir Dudess Louise VonLichtenstein. I landed at Buckman Veterinary Clinic based on the glowing reviews. They are certainly not the cheapest vet in town, but I truly believe in my heart that you get what you pay for. I would go hungry before taking my baby to a different vet. Everyone on their staff is kind, caring, and a joy to interact with. Dr. Johnson is an angel, and Em is incredibly gentle and patient with my dramatic little Dude. Their responsiveness and follow-ups are impeccable, and they explain everything in so much detail that I never have follow-up questions. I have been a pet parent for over 20 years, and this is by far the best veterinary practice I have ever visited. Do not let the few negative reviews scare you away. If you want the best care for your fur babies, this is the place to go.

I absolutely love this veterinary office. I have the unfortunate pet parent's dilema of having had 3 special needs geriatric cats when I first found this office 2-3 years ago. Now with 2 special needs geriatric kitties remaining, I still visit here often. Although my emotions and my wallet are often taxed by my kitties health situations, the office is always a delight to visit. Every staff member is amazing, compassionate, handle the kitties better than any other vet office I've ever been to in the 13-18 years of these kiddos lives. I cannot praise the office enough. 🩵
