Yelp
So disappointed in this emergency facility. Took my dog in due to leg injury- suspected torn ACL - waited three hours while watching many other dogs walk in and be seen and walk back out. Finally ask how much longer- couldn't tell me. Then an assistant who initially took the vitals- came out shared that due to the "critical cases" today- that it was going to be longer because my dog was stable. After the initial assessment- he stated don't let her put any weight on that leg. She laid on the floor for three hours, periodically moaning in pain. I shared that with the assistant. I ask how much longer- he stated maybe another 2 hours or longer, depending on the critical cases that may come in while waiting. Yes- I understand there are life/death situations- however how does one say my dog is "stable"- had to be carried in - and was told not to let her put any weight on that leg, when these other animals were walking in- and walking out.
Yes they offered for me to go home and they would contact me- I drove 45 minutes one way to get there - I felt like they were telling me kindly to go elsewhere. I would never entrust this facility with my dog ever again after the lack of compassion and professionalism.
No- I'm not just a complainer- I actually worked in healthcare my entire career so I know what emergency situations look like----

Yelp
Very disappointed.
I took my dog here after she'd been vomiting for over 24 hrs. I let the front desk know my dog is highly reactive to other dogs, so we'd stay in the parking lot (in the hot July sun) in my car. The tech who came out to triage us said it would be about 2 hr wait and that that could change if someone more critical came in.
I understand, when you go to emergency it's a blessing to be at the end of the line... you're not in bad shape!
We waited almost 3 hrs (still not complaining... clearly someone was having a worse day than us). Once I went in and asked if we'd been forgotten, as I'd seen multiple other people arrive, walk in and walk out only to drive off before anyone came to see us, I got a text thanking me for my patience. While reading the text, I got a call saying it was our turn. The call dropped. I called back, and was told we just lost our spot! It was like 30 seconds of silence!
A doctor came out, they seemed irritated from the start. Told me that no matter what they'd sedate my dog and began offering me options. I refused to sedate her (it hasn't gone well in the past) so they sent us home without so much as a "good luck", after making me feel like an idiot from refusing to sedate her.
About 2 hours later, we were at DoveLewis. My dog was so lethargic she could barely walk. We were triaged and admitted within 30 minutes. She was admitted to Dove for severe dehydration and an extremely high heart rate. They kept her overnight. I asked the doctor at Dove if they thought my dog would survive the night if I took her home.... Doctor said probably not!
So, BluePearl, you left us sitting for 3 hours (again, not complaining if there's someone worse than us) in the sun in a hot car, treated me like a second class citizen for not consenting to sedation when I know sedation isn't good for my dog, then sent us home like nothing was wrong when something clearly was wrong!
I understand you're busy.... But you could have killed my dog!

Yelp
My senior cat suffered a blood clot and I knew the only option would be euthanasia sadly. Upon arrival the technician took Jackie's stats and told me she was stable so we would have to wait, even though I explained what I thought occurred. Fast forward, we waited 4 hours and Jackie only received pain medication after I demanded it. My beloved kitty was of course euthanized after hours of agony.
I am very angry at myself that I didn't go elsewhere after the first interaction and not being listened to. I guess I was in crisis mode and not thinking clearly. Later on I emailed with the practice manager and was told that the person would receive more training. They also refunded my money, but overall it was just customer service speak. The technician apparently didn't seek a superior's professional opinion, she didn't listen and she didn't seem to care. There needs to be a multi level system of checks, so that one inexperienced person is not in charge of who waits and who gets seen immediately. Knowing that my sweet kitty lingered and suffered for 4 hours, most of which were not even with me, haunts me to this day.

Overall a lovely place, only had one non issue which is why I still give it 5 stars. My dog was attacked at the dog park and had a puncture wound to his neck that was bleeding a lot. We have a banfeild plan so we called them and they directed us to this hospital because they waive the exam fee once a year in emergent cases. When we got there it did take 40 minutes for them to even look at our dog who was bleeding, but it was the 4th and they said they had a lot of high risk emergent cases so I understood. He was also alert and acting as he normally would, so they deemed him stable enough to wait. The issue I had was the nurse seemed to be annoyed with our questions and concerns for our pup who is very reactive to people being items around him and will get snappy. We said hard no to a muzzle as my girlfriend had muzzled him once and it shot his fight or flight instincts through the roof. While she seemed annoyed she was still kind and she was probably under a lot of stress as well. Other than that one small thing everything was amazing. We had really wanted to be with him the whole time but the doctor said they couldn’t allow that due to space, other cases, and heightened emotions from owners, which is totally understandable. They allowed us to administer the sedation (an oral liquid) and stay with him to comfort him as he got really sleepy and couldn’t really move. He was aware and could open his eyes but was in an intensely calm state. They allowed us to put his cone on before they transformed him to the stretcher. He was done in 10 minuets as it wasn’t a deep puncture wound and only needed cleaning. They set us up with a pain medication and an antibiotic to fight off any infections before they could even occur. Overall a wonderful place to take your beloved pet and everyone in the lobby with their pets were also very friendly. It wasn’t inexpensive but wasn’t astronomical especially with the waived exam fee. I really appreciate the team that looked after my pup! He’s home and doing well! P.S. He had a previous infection on his neck so in the pictures that’s why you will see a scar along his neck.
As someone who is from out of town, I was especially anxious about having to bring Waffles to a veterinary hospital in a place where I didn’t know anyone. From the moment we walked through the doors, every single person made us feel welcome and cared for. They truly made us feel at home during a very stressful time.
The entire team treated Waffles with so much kindness, compassion, and genuine love. The veterinarians took the time to carefully examine her, explain everything clearly, answer all of my questions, and make sure I felt comfortable with the treatment plan. They never made me feel rushed, and I could tell they truly cared about her well-being.
The technicians and front desk staff were equally amazing. Their warmth and compassion helped calm my nerves, and they treated Waffles as if she were one of their own.
Being away from home can make an already difficult situation feel overwhelming, but this hospital gave us comfort, reassurance, and exceptional care. I will always be grateful for how they cared for Waffles and for making us feel like family when we needed it most. I wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone looking for compassionate, knowledgeable, and outstanding veterinary care.
