We took our 11 year old chihuahua mix in to Best Friends Animal Hospital to follow up an emergency room visit over the weekend at an urgent care clinic for vomiting, loose stools, and dehydration. Sweat Pea was seen by Dr. Brittany Grenus, who was so gentle and caring with our nervous little guy. She was very patient with him and spoke to him in soft soothing tones. Sweet Pea kept wanting to jump off the examination table so for his safety and comfort, the vet suggested we lift him off the table and place him on the floor. Without hesitation, Dr. Grenus sat down on the floor with him and continued to calm him while she explained to us the treatment plan going forward. Her professionalism and kind demeanor calmed us too. We have trusted our pets health to Best Friends for years and the staff, both front and back office, has always been exemplary. Dr. Grenus and the level of knowledge and compassion is standard for this practice. We know our furbabies will always receive the best care at Best Friends.
The appointment process was easy and seeing Dr Grenus was the best part. Worth the 45 minute drive!
I can’t express enough gratitude for the care I received at Best Friends Animal Hospital during a really stressful time with my dog, Bugsy. A lot of other places I reached out to weren’t able to take me in as a last-minute emergency client, but this clinic still made space for us and treated us with real compassion and urgency when we needed it most. Dr. O was kind, professional, and made sure I understood everything clearly without ever making me feel rushed. You can tell there is genuine care for the animals here, not just routine treatment. The front desk girl, Jackie, was also very kind and helpful. She allowed us to come in early morning and even helped me out with something when she didn’t have to. She made the check-in process smooth and welcoming, which helped ease a lot of my stress right away. But I especially want to highlight Julio, the nurse technician, because he truly went above and beyond in every way. He wasn’t just kind to Bugsy—he was extremely understanding of my financial situation and made a real effort to help me stay within a reasonable budget. That is rare to find. He didn’t try to push unnecessary costs or overwhelm me with options I couldn’t afford. Instead, he actually took the time to explain everything clearly and helped me prioritize what Bugsy truly needed. What stood out most was that he genuinely went out of his way to make things easier for me. He was patient, reassuring, and made me feel like I wasn’t alone trying to figure everything out. In a moment where I was stressed and worried about both my dog and the cost of care, Julio made a huge difference by being so thoughtful and compassionate. People like him are rare—he truly cares about animals and the people who love them, not just the job itself. Overall, I’m beyond grateful to the entire team at Best Friends Animal Hospital for their care, kindness, and fairness, especially during an emergency situation. I would absolutely recommend them.
Read on GoogleSo grateful for all of the staff here, especially Dr. Noda who has incredible bedside manner - she is always caring, thoughtful, and honest. Overall we have had good experiences here with both our pets and have not had issues with booking appointments or waiting long to be seen. Parking is very convenient and easy which is a big plus when you are traveling with an animal. I would saying the pricing is reasonable for LA and given the level of treatment they provide.
