DMCA copyright notices

If you own copyright in material appearing on Pawthentic — most often a photograph taken from a breeder’s own website — you may send a takedown notice to legal@pawthentic.com. Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), a valid notice must include all of the following:

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed. If several works on one page are covered, a representative list is enough.
3. Identification of the material you want removed, described precisely enough for us to find it — a direct URL to the page and, where a page holds several images, which image you mean.
4. Your contact information: mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act for them.

We acknowledge notices within 2 business days and remove or disable access to material that is the subject of a complete notice. Knowingly making a material misrepresentation in a takedown notice can make you liable for damages under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

Counter-notices. If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing your signature, identification of the removed material and where it appeared, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, your contact information, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district (or, if you are outside the United States, any district in which we may be found).
