We recently brought home Gio from the Smeraglia family, and the experience has been exceptional from start to finish. It was immediately clear how much love, care, and dedication went into raising him. Our vet was incredibly impressed with his health, temperament, and the level of preparation he had received. Gio is calm, gentle, confident, and such a joy to have in our family. You can truly see the difference when breeders put their whole heart into what they do. We are so grateful for our wonderful boy and highly recommend the Smeraglia family when looking for your new best family member.

We’ve had the most incredible experience with Smeraglia. We’ve had our dear Winston for 8 months. He’s adjusted so well with our other two dogs. Winston has been an amazing addition to our family. There’s not a part of the adoption process that hasn’t been such a pleasure to our family. The staff was kind and professional. They went over and above during our adoption process. Highly recommend Smeraglia!!!

It is difficult for me to write this review because this breeder helped me find my first dog in 2016. She is an F1B Goldendoodle who does not shed and is truly the best dog I have ever known. When we decided to add another dog to our family this year, returning to the same breeder felt like an easy decision. As someone with allergies, coat type was extremely important to me. Before selecting our puppy, I specifically discussed my allergy concerns and the type of coat we were looking for with the breeder's sales team. Based on those conversations and my experience with a non-shedding F1B from the same breeder, this was the puppy we were steered toward. The purchasing experience was excellent. We enjoyed the regular updates, our puppy attended Prep School, and transportation home was seamless. Most importantly, our puppy is wonderful. She is smart, sweet, calm, and has brought new energy and joy into our older dog's life. Unfortunately, we encountered challenges almost immediately. From the day she arrived, she had persistent loose stools and was subsequently diagnosed with Giardia, requiring two rounds of treatment. I submitted the related veterinary records and bills to the breeder's health department and am still awaiting a response. In addition, we discovered almost immediately that our puppy sheds significantly. Our clothes, furniture, and floors are regularly covered with light, fluffy hair. Given my allergies, this has been devastating. One of the primary reasons we specifically sought an F1B Goldendoodle was to minimize shedding and allergy exposure. While the breeder's health department representative I eventually spoke with was kind, communication after the sale has been noticeably different from communication during the purchasing process. While they did tell us we could return her (not easy to do), there was not significant guidance about coat evolution or what the likely outcome would be. Questions were answered quickly before purchase, but responses regarding concerns after bringing our puppy home have been slower and less proactive. To their credit, I do NOT agree with reviews that characterize Smeraglia as a puppy mill. My impression after following Smeraglia for many years and purchasing two dogs through them is that they genuinely care about their dogs. My first dog has been exceptional, and our current puppy has a wonderful temperament. My concern is not the quality of the dogs themselves, but rather the guidance provided to allergy-sensitive families and the level of support when significant issues arise after a puppy goes home. I would also caution allergy sufferers that even when purchasing an F1B Goldendoodle, you may not reliably receive a puppy that is compatible with your allergy needs. I have included photos documenting the amount of hair currently being shed. Because she is still a puppy, I recognize her coat may continue to change as she matures, and I will update this review if that occurs. Overall, if everything goes smoothly, you will likely be very happy. However, prospective buyers should understand that if challenges arise after bringing a puppy home, the level of support may not match the responsiveness experienced during the sales process.

Hands down the best dog experience ever! We brought home the sweetest Teddy Bear Twoodle in October, and he’s now 6 months old. He was fully trained within the first four weeks of being home, and his intelligence continues to amaze us. His temperament is impeccable, he plays when we’re active, relaxes when we do, and learned the rules of our home incredibly quickly. We couldn’t have asked for a better puppy or experience. Highly recommend! Thank you for giving us our sweet Cooper 🤍

Picking out our perfect boy was a great experience. 3 years in and Franklin is an angel—happy, healthy, and an amazing temperament that’s complimented constantly.
