Prairie Fire Kennels

I have had bird dogs for over 25 years and have had several pointers in which my previous 2 were GSP's from different breeders and last year I came across Prairie Fire both word of mouth and on line. After talking to Rob and never seeing his dogs since I live over 6 hours away I took a chance in which I never did before I committed on a puppy with out seeing his parents. I really like the way Rob has the pups around his family and incorporates that in the breeding process. The pups socialize with his family from birth in his house and not in a barn or a large kennel. On 2/14/2023 me, my wife and 3 girls drove over 6 hours in a snow storm to pick up not knowing i was picking up the best GSP puppy Id ever brought in out family. His physical appearance it absolutely gorgeous but more impressive is his personality around my girls and other people is amazing, in the house he is described as goofy, obedientand loving. In the field he is amazing! He is obedient loves direction and always strives to please and make me happy. He is a pleasure to watch him work and has an amazing bird drive and is non stop in the field and follows directions and hunts at the distances I want him to and recalls on command. I personally will not hesitate on getting our next puppy from Rob and Prairie Fire. I recommend and willing to talk to any propective owners about Duke. I look forward to my next pup in the coming years from Prairie Fire to work alongside Duke.

Great kennel! Great people! Incredible puppy! Our puppy is the best puppy we’ve ever had and well on his way to becoming a great bird dog. Not only does he have great hunt drive, nose, and instincts he is relatively mellow, loving with our little kids and very obedient and well behaved. These GSPs are better than I had hoped. I can’t recommend Prairie Fire Kennels enough.

We picked up our 8 week old puppy in June he such a smart sweet boy! You can tell Rob has a love and passion for his puppies, could not have been a better experience. Ty the puppy has been a great dog so far with our two boys and plans to hunt pheasants. Has been retrieving well and loves to swim.

Rob and the rest of the Prairie Fire Crew are great to work with. They produce excellent dogs and are an excellent resource. As a first time puppy buyer I could not have been more pleased with the way my dog turned out and the guidance they offered throughout the journey.

We picked up a female this spring and she has really impressed me. In the first few weeks of us having her she has a great prey drive, retrieves, points, loves swimming, she’s smart, responds well to training, is calm for tailgate checks, is calm on a tie out, and has a great off switch as a companion in the house. We have 2 young daughters and appreciate the attention and exposure that our pup had with family members of the Prairie Fire Kennel family. Rob is great to work with, cares deeply about the well-being of your pup, has high standards of excellence, and is helpful with any training questions I have. I have done a lot of upland game hunting and been exposed to many dogs in the field. I know that the pup I received from Prairie Fire Kennels will be excellent.
