My passion for animals led me to my first job at just 13, working for a small-town country vet. Learning how to file charts, watching surgeries, learning names of tools/equipment and general cleaning. From that point forward, I was hooked!
I attended Midway University for a degree in Equine Health and Rehabilitation as well as Biology; discovering that I had a passion for horses as well! While in college, I rode for the school's western pleasure equestrian team as well as worked on a thoroughbred breeding farm.
After moving from Versailles to Westport almost 11 years ago, I have worked with several veterinarians in most specialities and species! Receptionist, Vet Nurse, Anesthesiologist, Dental Tech, Lab Tech, Equine Ambulatory Tech, Kennel Manager, Clinic Supervisor and Surgery Tech are just some of the roles I have had during my Veterinary Medicine Career. Most notable : Reproductive Supervisor at the Kentucky ICSB (International Canine Semen Bank).

Health clearances are standardized tests recommended by breed clubs and the OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals) to screen breeding dogs for genetic and hereditary conditions. Common clearances include hip/elbow evaluations, eye exams (CERF/CAER), cardiac evaluations, and DNA tests for breed-specific conditions. A dog with multiple clearances indicates the breeder is actively testing to reduce the risk of passing on health problems.
