Jenny Ridge Kennels has given us the addition to our family that we needed. They kept in touch with us every step of the way with photos, videos and texts. We absolutely loved all the details and updates that they provided. I would definitely recommend getting a GSP from them if you are looking for your forever buddy.

We had a great experience with Jenny Ridge Kennels! Mike was wonderful to work with from beginning to end. He sent weekly updates with photos and videos, which made it so much fun to watch our puppy grow while we waited to bring him home. One thing I especially appreciated was the one-on-one communication. Updates and conversations felt personal rather than being sent as mass communication to all of the new puppy parents. Mike was always easy to communicate with and kept us informed throughout the entire process. We were also able to arrange our own individual pickup, and I really appreciated that he allows families to come visit their puppy before the eight-week mark. It made the whole experience feel much more personal. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and, of course, with our new puppy! I would definitely recommend Jenny Ridge Kennels to anyone looking for a German Shorthaired Pointer.

Mike and Leota were an absolute joy to work with. When I began searching for a breeder, they were the only kennel that responded right away, and I knew immediately they were different. I had been wanting a German Shorthaired Pointer as a companion for some time, and the Holloways truly stand behind their belief that their pups grow into both exceptional hunting dogs and loving best friends. Whether you’re looking for a loyal family companion or a skilled hunting partner, you are guaranteed to receive a beautiful, well-bred puppy from two of the kindest people you’ll ever meet. Their passion for the breed is clear in everything they do. Once puppy selection was complete, they even began using each puppy’s name to help them learn to respond when called. They sent regular videos that showed just how much love and care they give to every pup. I am incredibly grateful for Jenny Ridge Kennels and absolutely in love with my Dino-Nugget!

We had a great experience with our puppy at Jenny Ridge Kennels. Michael and Leota are very responsive with answers to questions during the gestation and weaning process. They send lots of pictures and videos so you can watch your puppy grow up with its littermates. We brought home a healthy puppy that has a great disposition and is adjusting well. The puppy had all appropriate shots and care when we picked him up. And they provide support by answering questions after you head home with your puppy.

The Holloways deserve every single 5-star review and then some! - Vetting: Leota mentioned Mike turns down more potential buyers than he accepts them. I have no doubt. Everything is up front and transparent. Mike really takes his time to learn about potential buyers to ensure they are a good fit for the puppies. He is endless patient with Qs/As, to the point I worried they had been on the phone for so long that hubby was keeping Mike from dinner time! (Do respect their time and ask informed questions!) - Pre-pickup: echo other reviewers. Frequent and informative updates from potential conception to puppy pick up. 0 surprises. - Pickup: easy, straightforward with clear paperwork. The Holloways welcomed us into their homes with warmth and kindness that hark back to the best of yesteryears. - Transport home: we worried how puppy would handle the 10h+ drive. The Holloways thought of everything and then some: extra water + food to ensure no upset tummy, towel with mom and siblings’ scent, a chew toy to relieve stress. So helpful in the first days! That toy remains his favorite nearly one month later. What really amazed us was pup gave unmistaken potty signals. We thought we would need to make off the beaten paths stops every 30min, instead, they were more like 1-2h gaps. The amount of prep work the Holloways did to ensure a smooth transition! - Puppy’s progress. Hubby wanted a bird-hunting dog outside and a good fam dog inside. So far, puppy has exceeded our best hopes! He is friendly to strangers but only “velcros” us. He started sleeping through the night within 1 week. Now 3 weeks in, he’s commanded “sit”, “come” and “heel”. And puppy is natural retriever! Dummy-tested day 3 home. Puppy came home obviously well-socialized, healthy and already has preliminary crate training under the belt. Our prior non-GSP was not. The difference is night and day, with lifelong impact on temperament and assimilation. Recommend future buyers to know what kind of puppy you want/need, and trust Mike’s judgement to pick the most suitable pup. Benefit from Mike’s knowledge, experience and attention to details. The Holloways are hardworking, nice, thoughtful and obviously devoted to the betterment of the GSP breed. They deserve all the stars!
