Iron Hill Retrievers

We did extensive research prior to choosing Iron Hill. As animal rescue volunteers, it was important to us that we choose a highly reputable breeder. Chris and Ron raise these pups as part of their family. This isn’t a secondary hobby or income for them. They’ve incorporated raising these dogs into their own lifestyle and the quality of the animals they produce is of the highest tier. We loved the red lab so much we got him a companion; both proudly purchased from Iron Hill. Both magnificent dogs. Would recommend!

We picked up our Iron Hill pup in early 2025 and could not be happier. He is playful, loving, quick to learn, loves people and animals, affectionate, has moments of simply being "chill", and I can already see what a wonderful companion he will become as he matures and grows into adulthood. It is obvious from day one that Chris and Ron work so hard with the puppies the first 8 weeks of life. There is no fear of the vacuum, he is 100% relaxed in the car, you can handle his paws, ears, and mouth with ease, he recovers quickly from anything new, loud, or unexpected, he came home with a good default sit (sits politely when anticipating a meal or treat), and rode 4 hours home in my arms without issue. It was clear he spent a lot of time playing with his litter and truly missed his siblings, so at Chris's recommendation I purchased a Snuggle Puppy for his crate before bringing him home, and it worked like magic. You can always go to Chris with any questions you have, and she is always happy to answer. Iron Hill truly cares about their puppies and their clients! Their dogs are stunning with wonderful conformation and the perfect combination of energetic but with that important "off switch" that we all need. Highly recommend Iron Hill Retrievers whether near or far!

Our girl Penny is 2.5 years old. She brings us so much happiness! The most gentle disposition, smart, athletic, and loyal. I truly believe Iron Hill puts heart and soul into nurturing each pup. Chris and Ron are wonderful! Penny weighs about 50 pounds and we travel, hike, and take her swimming daily. People always say where is she from?!!! She is very special to us. We are so thankful we found Iron Hill ❤️

“Leave it to the professionals!” Our Fox Red English Lab, Ruby, is 2 years old today, 7/9! We couldn’t be happier with this sweet, smart, and energetic girl! After researching FREL breeders, we spoke with Chris from Iron Hill Retrievers. We found Chris to be committed to improving the breed, follows a nurturing puppy program day 1, which leads to a wonderful family companion! Our trainer loved Ruby’s temperament, drive and beauty so much he asked for Chris’ information! We are so thrilled to have found Iron Hill Retrievers!

We recently took home our 8 week old Fox Red lab, Dozer from Iron Hill Retrievers and cannot recommend Chris and her husband enough! They made the entire process so easy. Chris made sure to answer any questions we had before and after we picked up our puppy and was incredibly responsive and personable throughout the entire process. Even a week after picking our puppy up we had a question in regard to his food - she not only texted us right away, but also called to follow up. It’s clear that she cares deeply about her dogs and the families that bring them home. We would recommend Iron Hill Retrievers to anyone looking for a beautiful, intelligent, and well-tempered dog from a loving home. Thank you both so much!!
