Hielscher Dachshunds

I discovered Hielscher Dachshunds years ago and told myself I would adopt my first pup from Gayle & I am so happy I did! Gayle is honest, transparent, and truly cares about the well-being of her dogs above all else. When I finally adopted Lilly, I saw that care firsthand. Lilly is a healthy, beautiful example of the breed with a perfect temperament. She’s my new best friend and sidekick. Thank you, Gayle! 🤎 Highly recommend.

I found Gayle while researching breeders and saw that her dogs were absolutely beautiful. I was just beginning my search, as we had lost one of our dogs a few months ago. I immediately felt so comfortable with Gayle. It’s obvious that she loves her dogs so much and I now can’t imagine going anywhere else. All of her dogs were so clean and well taken care of and she has so much knowledge about the breed. We’re in love with our new puppy BabyChips/Woody. He came to us fully trained and has a wonderful temperament! Thank you Gayle!

We got our sweet black and tan smooth mini dachshund Maizie from Gayle 5 years ago and since then we have been to a couple dachshund roundups, which are so much fun. Then we decided to try to have a litter of puppies, so we went back to Gayle and she welcomed us back into her dachshund family and we had Maizie bred. Now we wait and see but the experience was so amazing and Gayle thought us so much about the whole process. She even bought us lunch before we had to drive the 5 hours back home. She then called us when we got home to make sure we got home safe. Since this is our first time having puppies she came up with some amazing options to help us bring our first batch of puppies into the world, which is really a relief to know that we will be going through the birthing process with someone who knows what they are doing. Thank you so much Gayle and we would recommend her as a breeder 1000 times over!

We adopted our sweet girl Maisy from Gayle in January 2023. From the first conversation it is SO evident how much Gayle truly loves what she does and loves every dog that passes through her care. She is so knowledgeable, caring, and continues to check in after the puppy goes home. She was always available to answer any questions and help make decisions about the best puppy for our family. She allowed us in her home several times to visit the puppies and sent home our pup a blanket and a stuffie that she still sleeps with. She has the puppies practice sleeping in their crates before they go home so our pup slept through the night within a few days. She was also pad trained so we had only minimal accidents before she was house trained. We have a 3 and 5 year old and our Maisy is so sweet with them. She loves belly rubs, giving kisses, and snuggling with her people. We are so incredibly happy and would 1000% get another dog from Gayle.

We had such an amazing experience with getting our puppy from Gayle. She puts every ounce of labor and love toward her pups. Our Finn is such a sweet boy with an amazing temperament. Gayle’s pups are healthy, loved, socialized and potty trained before they go to their permanent homes. Finn has brought us so much joy and Gayle’s hard work has made having a puppy super easy.
