Great North Kennels

We purchased our working line German Shepherd from Great North Kennels. She is an amazing dog. Great with the kiddos, and with other dogs in the neighborhood. Very intelligent and trainable. We could not be happier with our puppy. Very knowledgeable breeder. Excellent communication. Highly recommended.

We recently got our working line German Shepherd, Onyx, from Great North Kennels, and we couldn’t be happier. Onyx is an athletic, beautiful black-coated girl — a loyal companion who’s confident, super smart, and fantastic with our kids. From the start, the team at Great North understood her drive and working-line energy perfectly. They were professional, patient, and incredibly knowledgeable. They helped us address the challenges that come with a high-energy, intelligent shepherd. After training, Onyx is even more responsive, focused, and well-mannered at home and in public. She still has all the personality and confidence that makes her such a joy, but now with better impulse control and obedience that makes life smoother for the whole family. We especially appreciated the clear communication, follow-up guidance, and how the they empowered us as owners to continue the work at home. If you’re looking for a kennel that truly understands working-line German Shepherds, look no further than Great North Kennels. We highly recommend them!

Bringing this puppy home has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our family and our ranch. She is everything a well‑bred working‑line German Shepherd should be — confident, intelligent, steady in her nerves, and deeply connected to her people. From the moment she arrived, it was clear she came from a breeder who truly understands this breed. Her structure, temperament, and work ethic reflect thoughtful pairing, excellent early development, and a program committed to producing dogs with both capability and stability. On our Montana ranch, she has become an incredible partner. She’s athletic and eager to work, yet clear‑headed and biddable. Whether we’re training, moving around the ranch, or simply relaxing as a family, she shows the balance of drive and composure that is so rare and so valuable in a true working‑line GSD.We are grateful for the care, dedication, and integrity behind her breeding. She is exceptional, and we couldn’t be more proud to have her as part of our family.

Can you have the perfect Czech Shepherd? Yes I think so. Our beautiful black almond eyed girl came just as I ordered!😀She is stunning! And smart? Very! She is excelling at obedience and bite training. I attribute this to the early training received with Gabriel and Ezreal. They did a terrific job teaching basic commands as well as stay training. Could not be happier or prouder of our KoKo!

Thank you Great North Kennels, for going above and beyond the call of duty to help my wife and I find the perfect companion. This czechoslovakian working line dog has a great temperament and gets along with all our other pets here on the farm in East Leroy MI. Their intelligence is off the charts. VERY easy to train, we've owned her 6 weeks and she is already housebroke and kennel trained. Thanks again Great North Kennels. Everyone meet Ginger-snap
