Golden Hearts Retrievers

We adopted our puppy, Paprika, in mid December 2025. We constantly hear from everyone what an amazing dog she is. I have never had a dog who is attentive the way she is, despite being only 6 months. She also is highly trainable. People constantly tell me how impressive she is- not even considering her age. We also temporarily moved to NYC, and she is doing incredibly well, despite the craziness that the city brings. She is my first dog from Stephen, but i will say i am very impressed, and i think she was worth the price given her personality, trainability, and physical stature. She also would be a top notch duck hunting dog if you are looking to hunt train

“BEFORE”we met Stephen, we had placed a deposit down with a different breeder. Who we “later” found out had not bred a successful litter in two years, with a waiting list extending out two years from today. Thankfully we got our deposit back. When we relayed our story to Stephen, he was understanding of our situation. Worked a miracle to provide us with the last girl dog of the litter. We are ever so grateful that he did. Stephen was the type of breeder that all dog owners want. Honest, precise information and kept us updated on the puppies weekly until they went to their new homes. When we arrived to pick up our beautiful girl there was an instant connection with our fur baby. Stephen carefully went over the paperwork, instructions and tips with us. He also provided us with transitional items to help her acclimate to her new environment. A blanket with mommy’s scent, a ball, bowl and even a small tub of the dog food she was regimented on. It was very thoughtful to help the owners be just a little bit better prepared from the very first day! I was impressed that any breeder would go that far. But that’s just who Stephen is. He truly cares about his dogs and their fur babies. Including staying in touch to assure that everyone is transitioning okay. I highly encourage anyone who wants a quality Golden Retriever to reach out to Stephen. I think you will be glad that you did.

I always said I’d never pay for a dog because I never wanted a “puppy mill” breeder experience and Stephen couldn’t be further from that! Not only was he great with communication but his dogs are well cared for and the puppies are happy and healthy when received. They come with a 1 year health guarantee, Stephen provided a folder full of information to help with our transition and caring for her, as well as a beginning amount of food and a blanket with her mamas scent on it to help with the adjustment. I don’t know if I’d call Golden Hearts a “breeder” as much as a family who loves Golden Retrievers and wants to share that love with others. I would highly recommend Golden Hearts to anyone looking for a top notch provider of your next family member! AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!

**photos added from June 2026, 8 months old*** We got our puppy in December of 2025 and he has been everything I would want from a golden retriever. Healthy, great personality, really sweet temperament, playful, gentle, the list goes on. The process was no-contact so it was different not meeting the puppies first. However, once he explained it’s for the health and safety of the puppies it gave me a lot of peace of mind that I was getting a well cared for dog. I felt sufficiently resourced with my dog’s vaccine records, vet checkup & necessary information. We were sent home with food, a blanket with the mom’s scent, lots of helpful info and even a new toy. Highly recommend getting a puppy from Golden Hearts!!

I got my Golden Retriever Finley from Golden Hearts Retrievers almost 10 years ago. I loved that I could meet both the mother & father of the litter and Stephen was so protective of the puppies. I was so impressed that he wouldn’t let me have my puppy til he was about 10 weeks old. Finley has been the BEST boy and he was given such loving care from the moment he was born. I highly recommend Golden Hearts. I only wish I could give them 10+ Stars!!! I can’t wait to get my next puppy from them in a couple years. 💙
