How exciting it was to get my very first Christmas puppy in my 60's! What a wonderful family operation. It was seamless (except my cell reception during snow in our mountains) and straightforward from website to pickup. Their facility is very clean and organized, and the dogs all have their own cottages! This family organization loves what they do, and it shows in their facility and care of not only the adult dogs but especially the puppies, and of great importance, the adopting families. They take great care to have all information on web, and if you have any questions at all, they will answer them in a timely fashion. As the Name states, their entire family is dedicated their lives to their line, health, and promotion of AKC standard poodles and the ethical and responsible breeding of them. And our puppy is just as lovely as can be. Healthy, smart, low prey drive, (they ask my preferences in beginning) fine animal. She acts as if she has already lived a lifetime with me they day I picked her up. And she and my older poodle love each other. She gets along with my cats as well. I would be honored to return to FamilyAffairStandardPoodles again in my future for another. Grateful to have found this Responsible AKC Breeder. Many thanks to you all, and God Bless.

I thought I would update my review because my poodle is almost 2 years old now. Our red and white poodle we named Leo is the most gorgeous and well-behaved dog I've ever owned. When we took him home he was very socialized and used to being handled. He's extremely affectionate and loves every dog and person he meets. His vet and groomer are always excited to see him and compliment on how well behaved he is (except he's not a fan of getting his toenails trimmed, but he does not bite or nip. He simply pouts). You can pick him up off the ground and hold them in your arms and he won't fuss, you can tell he was trained from a very young age to trust people. We followed the advice of the breeder and got him fixed after he was fully matured and you can really tell in the way that he looks that this was beneficial for him. My family and I love him with all of our hearts and he brings joy and laughter to our family everyday. We love our little Leo and we are so thankful that our friends recommended this breeder to us.

Great setup all of their dogs are obviously well taken care of and they truly care for them. we just got our puppy today. Couldn't be happier. Only place worth going to get a Standard Poodle!

I have had my boy for 3 years now and I couldn’t ask for a better dog! He is absolutely perfect and no matter where we to gets tons of compliments on his temperament and looks! I have 3 other friends who all have poodles from here and they are all wonderful in their own way!

Meet the Breeder
As you already know, my name is Wendy. I want to tell you a little about myself and my family and how FAMILY AFFAIR STANDARD POODLES began and, of course, our future plans. Some of my earliest childhood memories are of cuddling puppies and kittens, feeding chickens and horseback riding. Mama saw to it we had every type pet we wanted from parakeets and ferrets to horses. She also made sure we learned the huge responsibility of taking care of them. We learned at a very young age the importance of good cleaning practices, feeding habits and medical care to assure that our pets were all happy and healthy. When Holley was a young teenager and I was about ten we raised and sold rabbits, hamster and mice to local pet stores. We did this to help mama support our horse-showing hobby. The miracle of birth and the sadness of death was a part of our everyday lives. Although things were not perfect in some areas of our lives, this was an amazing, blessed way to grow up. Our home was always full of God’s creatures and we loved each and every one, even the mice! Just after opening the grooming shop in 1989, we met our first Standard Poodle. Into the shop one day walked a beautiful pair of black Standard Poodles. It was a mother and her son. Venus, the mother, was a gorgeous, loving, elegant, and petite Standard Poodle. Her son, Keegan, on the other hand, still just a puppy, was a huge combination of fun, personality, intelligence and striking good looks. This was the moment my family’s love affair with the Standard Poodle began. We met another breed in the early days of operating the grooming shop that stole our hearts and that was the West Highland White Terrier (Westies), “the little dog with a big dog attitude”. We were surprised that we fell in love with the Standard Poodle and the Westie, because our favorite breeds had always been the Collie and Sheltie (mini collie). Mama groomed Keegan and Venus every few weeks and also trained Keegan. As a result the two were in the shop and in our home on a regular basis. Keegan would come and stay just because we loved him. We grew to love their more confident, protective nature and large size, in comparison to the Shelties. A huge plus in comparing the breed to the Collie, was no shedding or odor. These qualities and the intelligence and loyalty of Keegan and Venus, convinced us this was a breed worth sharing with everyone.
