Chalk Pond Retrievers

We have had four yellow labs over ~34 years. In July 2020 we received Frank from Chalk Pond. The two baby photos here were taken by Chalk Pond. The big guy is Frank today at four and a half. Frank is always trying to please and intelligent. He absolutely loves other dogs. He is a very physical, healthy and happy boy. We love him. Aimee at Chalk Pond is the best AKC breeder you will find. We had interviewed tons of breeders and were left dissatisfied after each. Chalk Pond was different. Aimee and her family know labradors inside and out. She was the most reliable and informed of all the breeders we visited. She ensured that Frank's parents (Raven was the mom) were genetically compatible with DNA testing from PawPrints. Our sweet Chowda is absolutely gorgeous just like his mama Rocki, but what’s even better is his personality. He is so smart, loving, and probably the happiest dog you will ever meet. When we brought him home he was basically already potty trained, and was good about sleeping in his crate. He did very well with his puppy training, and continues to excel. He is the perfect representation of an English lab. We are so thankful for him, especially since we recently lost our older lab unexpectedly. We are big on holistic treatments/prevention and whole food diets for our dogs, which is why we wanted a puppy from Aimee. If you just want a puppy to have a puppy then she isn’t for you, dogs deserve the best life. Aimee gets that. If you have your stuff together you could be lucky enough to be chosen for a furever family.

My husband and I have owned labs for most of our lives. When we decided it was time to add another four legged family member we knew it was important to find the right breeder. Our top priority was to find a breeder who put the happiness and health of their dogs first. I remember the day I came across the Chalkpond instagram, I was blown away by Aimee's love and commitment to her dogs. We filled out an application and went through the process. To our delight, we were chosen as a family for one of her puppies (best day of our life!). Aimee kept us updated throughout the entire process and she matched us with a puppy that would fit our family. On the day we picked up Rosie it was clear the love and time Aimee had given to her puppies. Rosie was a complete love and a well adjusted girl. Fast forward, Rosie is now around 18 months. She is the best girl ever!!! She is smart, loving, loyal, strong, beautiful thick coat and block head, and very well trained. Rosie hikes, walks, swims, and does everything with us. There is not a day that goes by that my husband and I thank our lucky stars that we were chosen as Rosie's family. Chalkpond is the Gold Standard for breeding labradors.

Chalk Pond Retrievers was an absolute dream to work with, from the first time we made contact throughout Raven’s entire pregnancy and those first 8 weeks of the puppies lives, and even on a weekly basis now just to check in and say hi. When we began our puppy search, we never imagined meeting a breeder with so much passion and dedication to their dogs. We are so grateful to have been selected to be Vader’s forever family. He has brought so much joy, love and laughter to our home from his famous head tilting to his splashing in the water bowl to his all around mischievous personality, he is the perfect dog for our family.
