We are so grateful we found Julie and Jim Bennet owners of Central Coast German Shepherds in Paso Robles. We adopted our boy about a month ago and he is a gem. He is smart, sweet, gentle, fun and eager to learn. The training Julie and Jim started before we picked up our pup made his transition to our home easy. Julie is a dedicated breeder with outstanding and beautiful dogs from Germany. We got a puppy from her last December. Milo is a head-turner. He has exhibited a calmness from the beginning. Super intelligent and picks up commands readily with a little structure. Sweet natured but not (yet?) cuddly. Bonded. No question of his guard dog capabilities. Very focused and task oriented. Loves chasing balls! Incredibly athletic. It is a marvel to see him lunge in the air at full speed to catch balls. We could not be happier with Milo. We got our amazing GSD puppy, Jagger, from Julie at Central Coast Shepherds and he is the most amazing dog. Not just for his good looks (we get stopped everywhere with people saying he's gorgeous) but more importantly his temperment, which is loving, friendly, outgoing, smart and confident. Unlike our last GSD, he is super with kids, other dogs and everyone he meets. In terms of breeders, we did a TON of homework and talked to tons of people, hoping to avoid a past situation in which we got a puppy that turned out to have anxious/fear aggressive tendencies from the get, no matter how much socialization work we did. So this time, we were extremely careful and once I learned about Julie's program and how she raises her dogs, it was obvious they were right for us. Along the way, I was probably extremely annoying asking tons and tons of questions, requesting tons of updates and photos of my puppy, etc. and she patiently accommodated us. It all turned out great, and he's the best dog ever. Could not recommend CCGS more highly. This is a dog and family member for the rest of your life and you should take the decision of a breeder seriously. You won't go wrong with Julie Bennet's program.
