cedar crest mini aussies

I adopted a mini Australian shepherd blue merle 7 years ago from this breeder and he turned 7 this month. Thank you so much for creating for me beautiful memories.

Just picked up my second puppy from Cedar Crest because I love my first pup SO much. Found Cedar Crest after a long search online in May 2020 and have had the best experience working with Jessie. She is very knowledgeable, responsive, and super nice. My pup Maeve has the most lovely temperament, is wicked smart, and all around hilarious. I am looking forward to seeing her little sister grow up and to having them be best buds! Highly recommend!

I engaged Cedar Crest as I intended to purchase one of their puppies for my two daughters for Christmas. Having gone as far to give my deposit and select a puppy based on photos. Unfortunately, due to COVID I was laid off. Then my truck was stolen. Then my youngest daughter was hospitalized. It was a long list of unfortunate events. I explained this to Jessie, and she fought me on returning my deposit. The deposit was only $200, however given the circumstance was going to be helpful for my family at Christmas time. I pulled all conversations with her and NO WHERE did she say the deposit was nonrefundable. Never did I sign an agreement with them as a breeder saying the deposit was not refundable. I sent her back her own messages that say the deposit amount...but NOTHING about it not being refundable. She told me via text that she was able to find a home for the puppy we originally were planning to take within a matter of days. She found the home before he was old enough to even go home. She therefore, was out absolutely nothing, no extra food, minimal effort, no money. I provided proof that I had suffered these hardships. A police report proving my vehicle stolen, proof of a lay off, etc...and she still fought me on a $200 deposit. The dogs may or may not be great...I do not know. But I would not trust her if something does go wrong. Given this situation she did not act in good faith, and if you run into a problem when you take your dog home, she may not be quick to help you either, so proceed with caution. I was also informed (by her) at one point several of her newborn puppies died due to her negligence in separating litters upon them being born. This should have been a big enough red flag, but I did not listen to my gut. Prior to this experience I would have 100% gone back once I worked through all the life challenges, had she been nicer/reasonable about it. Now I will stay clear. Proceed with caution. Update: She gave me half of the deposit back and said she would "think about it" when asking for the other half. Then lectured me saying if I were furloughed, I would have gotten severance (FYI that's not how furloughing employees works), regardless I was not furloughed I was laid off. She also tried lecturing on managing my finances suggesting I read a book. Again...my personal situation and list of unfortunate back-to-back circumstance have nothing to do with any of this. Just her trying to take subtle jabs at me while I ask for a refund.

Our mini turned 2 on the 6/22. She has filled our hearts and home with love and joy! A wonderful dog!
