Caine de Lup

I purchased a female puppy from Alex in 2022. She is the 4th GSD that I have had and the only one I purchased from Alex. The previous dogs that I had were awesome but the girl that I got from Alex is in a total different class. She is by far the absolute best dog that I have ever had and an important member of my family. She is my Velcro dog loving, protective, extremely intelligent and easy to train. She is amazingly gentle with children. I am 67 years old and she is most likely my last dog but if I were younger I would definitely purchase another excellent dog from Alex.

We’ve had our Caine De Lup pup, Jetson, for just over a year now, and the experience working with Alex has been outstanding. I found him online and was impressed with the caliber of dogs he produces many with proven working lines used by metro Atlanta area police departments. When we reached out in 2024, I asked for a sable male with a pet-friendly temperament to complement my older high-drive working line shepherd, Dexter. Alex invited us out once the litter was ready and showed us three pups; two black males and one sable. We picked Jetson, who was clearly the most energetic, but exactly the right balance of drive, intelligence and goofy family dog. He bonded with Dexter within a few days and has been a constant source of joy ever since. One funny twist: when I looked at the pairings on the website, I had the right dam but the wrong sire in mind. I thought Jetson’s father was a short-haired sable, so when we picked him up, I assumed the extra fluff was just puppy coat and never even asked about it. About six months later, I realized he wasn’t “growing out of it”, he was a long-haired shepherd, son of Mowgli. At first it wasn’t what I expected, but I actually love it now: his coat is gorgeous, soft, and he doesn’t shed any worse than my short-haired shepherd. Alex knew exactly which pups would fit our family, and he was right. If you’re looking for a working-line shepherd but want the right temperament match, Cain De Lup is the place. I purchased a puppy from Caine De Lup in October, and he is such an amazing example of what a German Shepherd should be. I have owned GSDs my entire life, and absolutely love the breed. I have very high standards when it comes to what a GSD should be, and the puppy I got has exceeded all of my expectations. He is energetic, confident, easily trainable, has great nerves, wonderful food/prey drive, but can also enjoy a relaxing evening laying around the house. I drove 8 hours round trip for this puppy, and if I had to drive across the country, I would. There are far too many breeders who are producing sub-standard German Shepherds, but Caine De Lup is the real deal. I would recommend them to anyone in the market for a German Shepherd.

Alex was great with helping me pick the right dog for my needs. I'd actually contacted him to buy a much more expensive dog, but he explained why that dog wasn't right for me. He then sold me a less expensive dog better suited for my needs. Eurus is an older pup (about 10-11 months old) strong, healthy, already trained for basic obedience and has been a joy. I researched other breeders and trainers for over a year before choosing Caine de Lup. Alex has the best dogs around, he's an excellent trainer and he's so patient and willing to help. I can't wait to begin Eurus's advanced training. I highly recommend Caine de Lup to anyone looking for a top quality, working line German Shepherd. You won't be disappointed!!

Alex was fantastic to work with, and my puppy is perfect. I needed a calm, yet trainable dog could serve as a PTSD service dog and keep up with my active lifestyle. He absolutely delivered with a beautiful dog specifically bred with those attributes. My dog is healthy, easy to train, playful, loyal, extremely calm, and obedient. I can’t recommend enough.
