This is such a disappointing review to write, and I was anticipating a life long mentorship and relationship with Amanda from the jump. I loved working with Amanda since the moment I contacted her in March 2020! She loves her dogs and is a fantastic breeder (her dogs a beautiful, well tempered, and extremely well trained.) The only problem is that she confirmed with me in emails and in writing that I could have a puppy from her current litter, but then backed out at the last moment for suspicious reasons. After I had been waiting and working with her for the past 6 months to find the perfect fit for me and for the dog, and once I got approval from her, I purchased the flights. I sent her the flight itinerary to triple confirm I was coming to pick up the dog on our set date & she confirmed that she was excited to see me. She continued sending me videos and photos of the dog we agreed I would be getting, and even called me to ask if I could help her transport a dog from NY to Missouri on my way to her, and if I had an appetite for partnering together and potentially breeding my puppy with one of her stud dogs in the future (these were great indicators of how much trust I thought we had in each other.) I kindly said I couldn't make that breeding commitment at the moment, but I would stay open to it, as I was not planning on spaying the dog until at least 16-18 months when she went through her full sexual maturity. Then, she emails me out of the blue 7 days before puppy-pick up day, and a few days after this phone call, to say I live too far away from her, and I cannot buy a dog from her anymore. This was heart breaking after she sent me emails like "I have the perfect dog for you!" and confirmed multiple times that the dog was mine. Now I am out $800 in non-refundable flights from New York to Missouri between my boyfriend and I, and my house is filled with puppy supplies that I have to look at every day with no dog in my future. She knew since March that I lived in New York, she knew I lived in New York when I sent her a $200 deposit check mailed from my NY address, and she never expressed it as a problem until I mentioned that I was on the fence about breeding this dog with her in the future to continue the lineage in her program. Once I hesitated on this, days later I became "too far" for her and she has not responded to me since her cut off email. She usually emailed me back within 45min-1hr, so if you are having a great experience from the start, BUYER BEWARE! :( Other red flags I should have taken more seriously were when I asked for a Health Certificate for my flight home (since the state of NY requires it and so does Delta) and she was accusing me of thinking her dogs were sick! I promised to pay her in cash for the certificate that I was asking for, but she still had an issue with it. I even considered making a vet appointment in Missouri to just go myself after I got the dog, so I was flight ready! I also noticed she missed the cadence of the first Distemper vaccine that was supposed to be given in weeks 6-8, but it was only given in week 11 (when the second one should be given.) Lastly, Amanda talks about DNA testing the dogs in her program with the EMBARK test from Cornell all over her website and AKC page, but when I asked for these records (which are legally required by law for breeders to provide) she would commonly bulk at the idea and say that DNA tests don't prove results. But in fact she told me her one female (who was the mother of the puppy I was promised) did have a double copy of an unwanted gene. I agree DNA doesn't mean anything is guaranteed, but please be careful when transacting business with Blueprint K9 for these various and unfortunate reasons. It seems that Amanda is too attached to her dogs and breeding program to conduct business professionally, and I would hate anyone else to sink 6 months of their lives into this situation like I did.
