We have adopted 3 dogs at MCACC over the past 25 yrs. Our 1st experience was good, but the facility is so much better in the past years since the remodel and air conditioning vs evap cooling. The staff is always wonderful as are the volunteers. Dig beds are great & it's always as clean and smells good. How do they do THAT! I know they get the dogs out to play because the last 2 digs we adopted, one in aylus of '25 and one yesterday, we read All the kennel notes on their charts which they have on every single pet!! It makes it easy to see how you fit with a potential pet ahead of going in. With all of the 100sn of animals they process in and out.. each week... we don't know how they do it. Bravo to the managers, staff and volunteers. You guys inspire me more than words can say. If anyone has words of criticism, I suggest you go put in a few shifts down there and see how you feel about everything then. These guys deserve the purple heart 💜 photo is of our new dog on left .who bears a striking resemblance to our adoptee from last summer!!❤️

This was a great experience but also a very heartbreaking experience to see all those dogs needing homes. I also feel like the shelter could use more resources such as bathing and grooming. Other then that I was able to adopt a beautiful little long hair Chihuahua who was a stray and she is such a delight. The prices are great for $250 they are spayed neutered given vaccinations and micro chipped. I would highly suggest if you are looking for a furbaby to make the rescue your first choice. Adopt an animal that really needs a home. They will love you forever. This is not my first time adopting from the rescue as o have over 10 years ago my furbaby just recently passed due to congestive heart failure at the age of 10 and she was my best friend. I had her since she was 1 the best thing I ever did was open my home to a rescue pet.

Everyone was so nice here. We adopted our baby girl Jefa here. At first sight she looked a bit scary probably overlooked by many. She caught my eye because as her neighbor pals were so energetic and excited, she quietly brushed against the fence wagging her tail needing love. That’s how I knew she was for us. She was so sweet with everyone from our oldest to our 10 month old. Despite being in an unfortunate and unfamiliar place you could see she still had love for others.

The folks that work here are AMAZING. They always have a kind attitude and seem very caring even down to security. The place is very clean and the animals appear to be well cared for based on where they are. Thank you and keep up all the great work. We love Copper now known as Bhodi. He fits into our family perfectly.

we have had Redd, our rhodesion ridgeback for three years and went down to the west shelter to adopt him a bestie for life, our pittie Rascal who is so strong and smart and sweet and just the best brother to our boy! they make the best body gaurds for me alone on long walks with them! we are moving into our new home thia weekend and are super thrilled to be hoping to add a third dog to our lil pack! so fingers crossed we find a german shepard, maybe a female, that will be the perfect addition to the family at mcacc west next week we already have our eye on a few tbh! ♡ will adopt from this shelter again for sure and tell all my dog lover friends to check them out asap
