Varian Kennels

We just enjoyed the most wonderful first week with our new, personality plus, gorgeous German Shepherd girl, Winnie Pearl! As expected, she is the best lil wonderdog with the nicest coat, adorable, expressive, face and beautiful, perfect healthy build. She is adjusting easily to our Siamese cat, her new digs and adoring family. Our 10 week old girl has an amazing disposition, is wicked smart, incredibly happy, gentle, energetic, fun, affectionate, curious and quick to listen and learn new things! We are loyal, grateful return puppy parents of the well-bred, quality dogs and expertise of Varian Kennels! I have also been the fortunate recipient of Patricia’s brilliant, approachable and effective training sessions , since our first furrever friend pup beginning 8 years ago. Patricia is the most fab human, and a practical, easy-going, competent, loving, responsible, reliable breeder/trainer. She has a friendly, uncomplicated vibe and is generous with her vast doggie talents, seems creative and patient with a challenge, and ever gracious with her experienced knowledge. The well laid out facility is also truly impressive, absolutely impeccably clean, well-organized , properly equipped with roomy spaces, and a joyful , beautiful spot in this world! We could not be more pleased with our great puppy selection process, solid, worthy guidance and more than satisfied with our entire Varian Kennel repeat experience. We will definitely be visiting soon to continue obedience training and enhance our sweet German Shepherd’s companionship and quality of our lucky lives together! I just went up to Varian Kennels last week, to get my second GSD puppy from Patrician Varian. My Emma, was such a wonderful dog. And it is true to some extent, that the big breeds don’t live as long. Emma expired at 7. Patricia is the ultimate breeder and trainer for her types of dogs. I got my second German Shepard puppy, just days ago. The puppies are so healthy, and bright. Mine whined as little when we got in the car…but soon she was sleeping on my lap with nary a whimper. It was obvious Patricia had already started the young puppies’ training even before we went to pick up our puppy. “Lydia” I’ve only had one GSD before, and this one is from the same mother, “Tess”. I am in LOVE with my “little girl.” She is so easy to work with, so smart. She is responding to new words and calls I have for her. She walks on a leash like a pro. Not leaning into the leash. She responds to voice commands already….like “OFF!” An essential if she starts to eat something she shouldn’t. I am grateful for all the “schooling,” not only of her dogs, but how well Patricia communicates with the new owners, and what she can tell you about your new dog, what to feed them, exercise, etc. It’s worth the drive…to spend some time in Parkfield area and meet Patricia. I took my rottie puppy for a 4-day weekend training with Patricia, and we all had such an amazing time. She has a great set up for training dogs because she has a lot of space and quite a few farm animals, which provided such a unique opportunity for my dog's socialization. Her dogs are very well trained and they helped teach my dog how to properly behave around other dogs, which was one of the reasons why we took him there for some training. My dog has worked with several trainers, but they were all too soft and not able to get too much done. Patricia is a firm and confident leader and I think it's the perfect personality to handle power breeds, such as my rottweiler. She has really helped polish up my dog's training and helped me handle him with more confidence and assertiveness. You can tell she absolutely loves what she does. I would highly recommend her. Ah, we also loved the peace and quiet in the tiny little town where she lives.

Varian Kennels is an amazing magical wonderland for dogs. The Kennel is situated on over 200 acres of land. I visited several breeders before meeting with Patricia Varian. Many breeders I visited with, I did not walk away with a positive experience. Several of the kennels I visited, either were smelly and dirty or I had the feeling that the owners, over worked the females using them as an ATM machine. First and foremost Patricia loves her animals. She does not breed for the sake of breeding, and is very careful not to breed a dog with a mutation or does not have a clean bill of health. Patricia keeps the family lines healthy. Her facility is amazing and sparkling clean, the dogs are well cared for and loved. The facility does not have a dirty dog smell. It is obvious that she loves animals and has a terrific environment for them including an agility course. Patricia gave us weekly updates on the puppies (weight, curiosity, energy, laziness etc..) and shared pictures and videos. The puppy we chose is an amazing little guy. He is curious, energetic and loving. We could not be happier with our decision to choose Varian Kennels. I do recommend her book “Puppies an ounce of prevention”.. which gives great advice on how to care for your puppy.

Patricia's process for purchasing a healthy puppy was fun, well thought out and rewarding. She communicates well, lays out the process, describes the parents, and is very experienced. I appreciated the anticipation and announcement of the litter, the videos she sent out introducing the pups, and the coaching she did prior to selection Saturday. Her book was helpful and her emails informative. Overall, this was a very good experience.
