Just wanted to give our thanks for the new addition to our family, Iris. We aquired Iris (Our Mini Hippo) from the Wallingford store. Staff was friendly and helpful! We have had Iris for almost 6 months now and she has been an absolute blessing to our family. She is friendly, playful, and protective. The best family dog ever! She was easy to train and thank goodness has had a clean bill of health with no issues. We can’t thank Allpets enough for helping in completing our family with Iris. We give her what she has given us—love, protection and happiness. She is so happy in her new home. We included the photo from Allpets website when we first saw Iris and today in her new home!

Visited this store for the first time this weekend, and was initially very impressed with the vast selection of products for various pet needs (aquatic, amphibian, small animal, birds, fish, cat and dog), however the longer I spent in this store the more concerned I became for the welfare of the animals. Upon glancing at the puppies available in the back, I found an extensive list posted of their “USDA approved breeders” on the puppy play pens with a two page list of puppy mill breeders from MO and KS and registration/pedigrees labeled as “ACDH” (which after a quick search I found to be purely used by puppy mills to trick their buyers into thinking the puppies have a clear bill of health). My biggest concern came from the health of the puppies, as one “puggle” clearly had bow legs and struggled to walk and defecate. However more concerning was a frenchie puppy named “Miss Pibble” who was struggling to breathe through only 1 nostril, and clearly needs immediate medical attention. However, staff did not care about my concerns when addressed and informed me I had “no idea what I was talking about”. Watching a little longer I noticed all of the puppies chew toys were covered in feces, their water was fed through a hamster bottle, and every single puppy had diarrhea which covered all of the pens.

This has got to be one of the sketchiest businesses in CT. They sell sick puppy mill mutts, and call them “designer”. I purchased my dog from this place two years ago and when I got her to the vet she was severely ill because all of the puppies at apc share water bowls and puppies eat feces. Cost me several hundred dollars in vet visits to get her on track and my vet said all of the puppies she treats from apc always have issues. I visited the Wallingford location tonight, 2/13 to get some chews for my dog. There were multiple items on the shelves with the wrong price label. No exaggeration at least a third of the front chew/treat section were being incorrectly advertised. Two of the items I had in my order were incorrectly priced. When I showed the cashier she brought the manager over. I went to the aisle and snapped a picture of the entire box of product with the wrong shelf label. He proceeded to tell me that he would honor the tag (this time) because I have a lifetime membership with APC, but in the future not to expect the business to change the price. When I told him I was under the impression that if a business has an ENTIRE display incorrectly priced, they are supposed to honor the price they’re advertising falsely. He then told me that they actually don’t have to do that because for all they know I went over to the shelf and I put the incorrect price label there! Management here would accuse customers of deviance before taking accountability for their own poor management skills. Really rubbed me the wrong way. Won’t be back.

Today was my second time into the Wallingford location to look at puppies. My first time, yesterday, was pleasant. The staff member was kind, patient, and answered questions to the best of her ability. Today, I brought my dog and my children before making a decision on what is a long-term and large financial purchase. I do understand that Sundays are busy, however I felt very rushed when looking at the dogs today and was What felt like a little bit too frequently asked if we’ve made a decision repetitively. If it were due to the fact that another family was waiting to view a dog I almost would’ve preferred that she was transparent in needs the room, rather than trying to rush us to make a decision. Ultimately we left the store without a $3200 pup due to this. I’ll likely take a shot at stopping by the Branford location as an alternative. Dogs are large purchases and families should not be rushed to make decisions, especially when introducing children & other dogs. Sometimes, that’s how dogs end up getting bounced around from home to home or returned to the store.

Honestly the best store in CT for pets. I went there to find my new love Calli! She has been an excellent addition to our family. They took excellent care of my animal and all the animals. They have a ton of toys to choose from and anything you need. They have a discount system you can purchase and i have saved money on my purchases this way. My only regret about All Pets is that they are not in my area. I would love to work there and We would surely frequent more often.
