My pug baby is 12 years old now and I bought here here when she was just 10 weeks old. She did have a couple seizure episodes when she was a puppy (1-2 years old) but they stopped and she has been completely healthy and happy ever since with no major health issues. However, about 2 months ago now she was diagnosed with oral melanoma which has been devastating. I do not know how much time I have left with her, but I can say when the time is right and I feel ready, I would absolutely be coming back to the pug ranch for another puppy 💕

I got my boy pug from AJ Pug Ranch in December 2024. However, I started talking to the owner since August 2024. She was incredible to work with and we communicated throughout the entire pregnancy. She kept me updated on the momma’s progress and we talked as soon as the litter was born as I was at the top of her waitlist. I was able to visit her facility and meet the mother and father of the babies, and after the birth I was able to visit with the pug I’d reserved three times prior to bringing him home. She was very helpful and he is a wonderful pug. Smart, healthy, loving, and adorable. I highly recommend AJ Pug Ranch.

We got out pug puppy in 2014. He has been a wonderful addition to our family with 3 kids. He has never had any health problems or anything that would cause suspicion with over breeding. We live in Olney, IL, and the breeder even drove up from Carmi to meet us in Greyville. She also brought along one of the parents of our puppy. I can only speak from personal experience but our dog has been healthy and strong! I would buy from again.

My husband and I went there in August of 2014 to pick up our puppy. The facility was very clean and she only had one litter at that time. We picked out a little boy who was my husband’s and my first dog together. He was our entire world. We did everything together. Two days after picking him up he came down with parvovirus. The vet said the only way he could have gotten it was from being around other dogs on the breeders property, as we didn’t have any other animals. He nearly died and Jan, the breeder, took no responsibility for his illness. In fact, she didn’t ever call back to see if he made it, she just simply wrote us off. Needless to say he survived, and was the best dog we have ever had. Two years later, we woke up in the middle of the night to him having a grand mal seizure in our bed. He never healed from the seizure, so our vet sent us to Veterinary Specialty Services. He was diagnosed the next day with PDE. Pug Dog Encephalitis. 100% fatal and easily prevented through proper breeding measures. I called to inform her that she had dogs on her property carrying the genes and that she needed to contact the other families in his litter because if one has it, they all do. She refused to take down any of my information and denied that we purchased him from her. She very well may be breeding these same dogs today. She does not genetically test her dogs for the PDE gene. Our experience was horrible, as our baby boy had to endure so much in his little life because of her poor choices. This facility should be closed down or ACK should enforce her to meet breeding standards. Please, do yourself a favor and do not purchase a puppy from AJ Pug Ranch. I wouldn’t wish our journey on anyone.

We adopted a beautiful baby boy pug from here. My wife loved him like a soul mate, so there is that, and we'll never forget our time with him. He had massive breathing problems, which was evident from the get go, but it's to be expected from the breed on occasion. However, when he was two years old, he suddenly became lethargic like he was coming down with a virus. A week later he developed massive seizures, began walking at a tilt, hitting walls, suffering massively. We brought him to ER and he was given prescriptions, but he died a horrible death one later, and left the family completely traumatized. He had a genetic disease. Pug dog encephalitus. Please, I beg you, the dogs are precious, but please do not support this farm, where the pups are massively over bred. His brother from the same litter was adopted by a good friend, who knows more about the specifics of the situation, but he has massive health problems as well and is currently on medication.
